Welcome!  Looks like you are doing a great job for being so new to the program.

    • As Mark mentioned, while in plan view, click on tub filler or mirror or shelf to highlight it, then hold the Command button down while moving the mouse to more easily move the highlighted object.
    • For more learning, try the training videos on Chiefarchitect.com  https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/
    • Or try on demand training through Chiefarchitect.com (see attachment).

    Good luck!

Thank you! I'm trying my best getting as much out of the training videos here and Youtube! For the most part they've helped a lot but there's some bits where I get a little hung up on so these forums are awesome. I was able to move the tub filler thank you! And yes, I see now how to move the mirror in plan view but was wondering if there's a way to move it in perspective view? On the instructional video she seems to select and move it in the perspective view but when I try I am only able to click the backsplash...

Try pressing the ctrl for windows or cmd on  mac when moving the shelves and bath spout , and when selecting  mirrors hit the tab key it will select things below it keep hit it until what you want is selected

Thank you! I was able to use ctrl and clicking the tub filler to move it into position!

But I'm still not able to only select the mirror on the backsplash without selecting the entire backsplash...I tried doing what you said by clicking tab but it didn't seem to work?

  3. Hello seasoned CA users,

I am SUPER new at CA and trying my best to learn. Forgive me for any silly questions. I am currently following along a youtube video demonstrating how to build a bathroom and I cannot figure out how to do a few things... I'm putting them all here below instead of separate forums per each since they're all related to the same video that I'm struggling to complete.  Also, if needed the instructor is using CA x12 (https://youtu.be/kZiHeOzjPhs?si=t-KCLcPqbpcBl_dr

    1.  I have placed two mirrors on my backsplash. However, I want to move these mirrors around but when I try to select the mirror, the backsplash is automatically selected. I literally cannot select JUST the mirror...?

    2. My shelves inside of the shower wall niche are not sitting inside? Here are the specs for the niche and the shelves per the instructors video which I followed:

    3. My tub spout will not go over my tub seamlessly the way that the instructors does... she seems to be able to drag the spout into the tub so that it is above it but mine will not overlap the tub. Almost like the two items are blocked and won't overlap? First screenshot is the instructors, second and third are how mine look:

@DaniellaZV once you have one cabinet you are happy with make a style palette that only uses the hardware. Then you can paint other cabinets with it. (sample attached)

    Hi Mark!

So... Just a tiny heads up (if it wasn't very obvious from this post lol) - that I am about 5 days into using CA  that being said I see you attached a sample but I truly don't know the steps I am supposed to even take in order to view what you've so kindly provided for me!

In X15, I get the same result as @DaniellaZV.  The Moderna hardware (either one) goes on the drawerfront correctly, bar horizontal, but incorrectly on the door.  See her post #1 above.  The door pull needs to be edited, first to rotate it, next to adjust height.  I edited both height and horizontal placement, the horizontal edit to place it at center of stile.

So the answer to Daniella's dilemma is, Chief changed the app X14 to X15, no explanation given, but that the tools are there to make the hardware work.

Wow, you are awesome! Thank you for taking the time to check it out I'm glad to know I wasn't crazy because I was following all the steps to the T so it makes sense that it was the difference in X14 v 15 settings :o It turns out that all the cabinet pulls hardware in the 'Cabinet Hardware 1' places correctly with horizontal/vertical positions when using the paint in object mode but ALL of the cabinet pulls in 'Cabinet Hardware 2' place only automatically horizontally... ? I wonder if that's a glitch... because the pulls in Cabinet Hardware 1 place correctly so it doesn't make sense.

While I am still really new... It'll take me some time to figure out how to actually execute your suggestion of the door pull but thank you! I continued on with the boot camp video by choosing a different hardware that placed correctly.

  6. Hello CA forum,

I'm a new user (legit less than 24hours) and I'm currently following along the recorded webinar for kitchen & bath bootcamp but I'm stuck. He is adding hardware to a cabinet and I'm following EVERY step he's doing but when I place my cabinet hardware they keep placing horizontal. Again I've followed every step and can't figure out why mine does not look like his... HELPPP

    Screenshot 1 is mine

    Screenshot 2 is the instructors

In the video they automatically dropped as the top being horizontal and the bottom being vertical. Mine automatically place as both horizontal.
