  1. Yes will definitely need rail......Drawing railings on top of the ramp worked, but showed up level. Didn't see how to slope. I drew two more ramps - one on either side with automatic rails turned on. Then shrink the width of each to just a couple of inches and turn off one side of the auto rails. Details not perfect but pretty close. I suppose could also use azek texture on the ramp and hand draw lines in to represent the individual boards if it's for a permit drawing.....
  2. Wow Chrisb222 , that is an amazing solution! Seems like an issue that shouldn't need an amazing solution, but thanks for sharing! Here's my summary of what you are telling Chief to get the desired result - is this right? 1. Make a single rail on one side as high as the thickness of the deck material 2. Give it a bottom rail but no top rail and no balusters 3. Make newel posts the same thickness as the gap you want between boards 4. Make newel post spacing the same as board width 5. Make bottom rail same width as ramp, the same height as floor material, and offset to middle of ramp. 6. Use material in spec dialogue to Change newel material to insulation air gap (invisible material) 7. Use material in spec dialogue to Change rail material to material texture you want for ramp floor 8. Use adjust material definition rainbow icon to rotate material in texture dialogue.
  3. Hello, I am working on a 5' wide wheelchair ramp for a new client. I would like to show the deck of the ramp to be made of Azek decking in solid pieces. I am able to change the default concrete to a hardwood floor look with many joints. I would like to show solid 5/4 x 6 decking boards with the azek color and texture. I have been able to change the material to the Chief library's Azek decking through Materials in the specification dialogue, but it takes away the individual boards and makes the whole ramp have the azek texture. What would be the easiest way to do this? Thanks for your time, Thomas Huntington Huntington Construction LLC Chief X17 Windows 11
  4. Thanks for all the replies! I appreciate your time. Will try these things out
  5. Hello , I use Conestoga cabinets combined with our in-house custom shop for most of our kitchens. Is it possible to create or buy a library that would generate the correct nomenclature in the labels? For example, Chief will generate a cabinet label for a 24" base cabinet with butt doors as "B24". I would like it to match the naming system of Conestoga so it automatically reads "B24BD" in the schedule so it's easier for ordering. I don't need a style specific setup unless it's required - I just need the labels to change and show up in the schedule. Thanks, Thomas Huntington Huntington Construction LLC Chief x16 Windows 11
  6. I'm using x16 latest release. I create a materials list polyline around several rooms and then have it calculate materials. The drywall square foot is right compared to manual takeoff, but the sheet count is not close. Higher than double the count needed. I checked the wall board size and wall definition and both are correct. Anyone have an idea of what I might do to fix?
  7. Found a solution that worked for me......When printing layout to pdf, I was getting very thick lines for one file. In drawing sheet setup, the .plan file was set to a different line weight than the .layout file prior to sending to layout. I made sure both were back to the default setting of 1/100 mm and all works fine again.
  8. Hi Chopsaw, I am having the same issue - all looks fine in layout but when sent to pdf, the line weight get super fat. Changing line weights in drawing sheet setup does not have any effect. My previous projects printed fine.....Did you ever get to a solution?
