Thank you for your response, I need to expand my question, If I am trying to generat a area schedule showing the living area, garage area, porch, patio how do I separate out these areas? I don't see a way to to make a polyline that would only select the garage or patio area. This seams like a simple task to do but I am struggling with it in this program, I must admit I am converting from Softplan to this program...

over brick would just be the gross living area as usual on a normal house with 2x4 brick walls over framing would be the are limited to the outside of the studs... apparently his framer only charges him for the over framing area

Is there a way to calculate living areas in the program? My client needs me to calculate living areas over brick and living areas over framing... Is there a way to do this other than just tracing a cad line or something?
