  1. I have Chief 9.5 and I'm attempting to take a survey map and draw the lines in Chief. The thing that is messing me up is that in Chief, North equals 90 degrees and East equals 0 degrees while in surveyences North equals 0 degress and East equals 90 degrees. My brain is sore. Please help.
  2. It's definitely related to the lower roof plane as it mirrors exactly the lower roof plane. I moved the plane up one floor for editing, but the mystery line remains. I'm just not sure how to get rid of it short of deleting the lower roof plane and rebuilding it. This is probably what I'll have to do.
  3. Thanks Lew, I'm still a little unclear on what you mean. I suppose I COULD just turn off that layer as you say, but please tell me why they are drawn by Chief? What adjustment to the roof would eliminate them?
  4. Hi all, I have Chief 9.5. I've drawn a second floor with stairs to a plan and have ended up with a mystery beam. I know it's a beam because it disappears when I remove the check mark on the beam tab in the "Display Options" tool. Needless to say I haven't drawn a beam there or anywhere else for that matter. I cannot select the line in Plan view to delete it. Any ideas how I can get rid of this annoyance?
  5. Tommy, I DO place my plans in job folders and these go to the default "Plans" folder in CHIEF. CHIEF sees these files fine and yet windows does not. Any ideas?
  6. Could be, Lew. I'll look at my folder settings.
  7. Thanx for reply, Lew. Strangely, when I search using those parameters, I only get a small handfull of returns, most of which are not even Chief files. I have hundreds of plan files, so it's odd that windows can't see them. Chief sees them fine, obviously.
  8. Hello, I'm having trouble finding plan files in 'windows explorer'. I can find them fine in Chief and I can find older plan files in explorer, but not newer ones. The file paths seem to be the same yet nowhere to be seen. I have Chief 9.5 and Windows Vista. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
