Thanks for suggestions! I checked my wall defaults and sure enough the wall type i was using had another layer of framing on the interior layer also check marked for auto insulation. Problem solved.

I seem to have issues with references.. Nice CROWN is what i get when elevations points are set.

Here is the terrain i am trying to create: I would like to set terrain at 60.88m as the height point of elevation Input surveyor property line points. Having difficulty setting terrain elevation heights from surveyor given points as elevation lines and elevation regions have only one elevation value input. Need help creating terrain from the given various elevation heights. All grade elevations at the building had to be calculated manually. I was hoping these values can be displayed automatically after terrain is built and building is set. I thinks i am asking too much from the chief... Glennw: you are on the right track. I am trying to set terrain at 60.88m so i can input give terrain values without calculating the differences for each, but need the story pole dimensions of main floor TOJ to start at 0, so the terrain elevations aren't used in building heights dimensions. Kbird: I use imperial template so the building can be dimensioned in ft-in units, but our building department works in metric units, hence i am trying to create plot plan in metric units and keep the rest in imperial. I will play with turning off elevation labels...

If I have a baseline set properly then i can input metric elevations for heights. I still want to have main floor TOJ as 0 for building story pole elevations. 3. Thanks! Yes, you are right, there is still adjustments to be made for top and bottom. Today I had a breather and wanted to see if there is a better way to display correct Azimuth coordinates. Previously I just masked them and moved on (as suggested before), but it was always on my mind.

I accidently deleted the thread when replying. Thanks to everyone contributed to come up with workaround. Issue: When Azimuth coordinate system selected for the polyline, the angles do not show correct. Solution contributors Alaskan_Son, GlenW, Chopsaw Solution: Make a copy of the terrain polyline. Move terrain polyline copy to the side. Assign to unique layer. Disconnect copied polyline. Reverse polyline direction for each required polyline. Do not close polylines Block polylines that now show correct Azimuth angles/length. When ready for annotation, overlay blocked polylines over terrain perimeter.

Hi Robert, Thank you for the attached plan with changes. I've played around with my model while referring to your version and came to the following conclusions: 1. Added ceiling plane was causing issues with walls not framing correctly at the roof. I stretched it over back and front wall to resolve it. 2. Splitting walls (instead of using material region) was causing second issue with framing around openings. 3. Size of window above the garage door was causing additional issues with framing. I got all these issues worked out now. Much appreciated!

Thank you for pointing in the right direction how tix it temporary. I use site plan for elevation references and for 3d as well. I'll be submitting this to chief support, hopefully they will include this fix in update roll out (wishful thinking...) or at least X14, as I use color in the layout quite a bit.

I am having issues with framing, where: 1. Flat Low Slope Truss is generating into the wall on the ends 2. Framing for openings doesn't generate correct framing for segments where I have windows directly above Man Doors and where windows are directly above Garage Doors. 3. Walls built framing to underside of roof plane and not to underside of trusses. I tried to remove headers for man doors so that only top header to carry the load for both window and the door, rebuilt wall framing but it didn't help, so didn't remove headers for garage doors. I found a thread with this issue from 2018. Here we are in 2021 and I am getting the same issue. See attached. Has anyone found a work around or a fix to this problem color fill issue when sending elevations or section view as plot line with color fill option checked?

At least I can sleep better now knowing I am not missing something. As Doug mentioned, these views would be nice to have for subs/GC's, also for creating custom details for annotating for CD's, but not mandatory. Maybe in the future we can have this luxury. Thanks for work arounds!

Is there a way to have framing, substrates etc. to have solid fill in 3d view/section slider?

I tried to use joist direction tool with auto generate deck framing on and framing disappears. When I hit build framing details button at the bottom toolbar, nothing happens either. What's making framing disappear..

Good day, I am designing a deck around existing pool and garage. My issue is deck beams frame parallel to the garage (at an angle) and I need them to frame either horizontally or vertically. How can I change deck beams framing reference so they frame either at 0 or 90 degrees? 9362 Mountview Rd Pool Deck Iter.1.plan
