  1. This is how my elevation looks on the Layout file (Scale 3"-1') Here's what it looks like on the generated PDF. Lines are way too thick and you can see all the little point markers I put in (the little dots - those are at 1/16"). Is there a setting I'm missing here or is this just because of the scale?
  2. Thank you! Just want to make sure I'm understanding - create only half of the profile using 3D solids and add it to the library as Millwork? Then add to the cabinet under Foot Style? I'm trying to emulate this. I can create the profile on one side (or close enough) but how do you get it to wrap around the corner? If I have to do each side separately I don't know how I'd get them to match perfectly with the curves. My skills with 3D solids are rudimentary at best lol.
  3. Our cabinet maker will be cutting a decorative toe kick profile out of the baseboard molding going around an entire vanity. Similar to the image below. Is there a way to do this in Chief? Is it possible to cut shapes/profiles like this from a molding polyline or is there another way to approach this?
  4. I did it!!! Thanks all! I use molding lines/polylines quite a bit but didn't realize they could be used to make doors - this is way more streamlined than what I've been doing until now. So much wasted time lol...
  5. I've made other cabinet door profiles with 3D Solids but those were with 90 degree edges, nothing beaded. Maybe I should have tried with countertop tools instead? Ahh this is great, thank you!!! Can I ask how you did the beaded part?
  6. Is there anything similar to this door style in any of the Chief Catalogs that I'm just not finding or have not yet downloaded maybe?
  7. This is great! This will get me by until I can devote some hours to learning a new software/how to do this myself. Many many thanks!!
  8. Is this what you're referring to? https://www.blender.org/
  9. The SU modeler looks like Kohler themselves lol ^Do you know how to do this?
  10. I've downloaded a Kohler sconce from Sketchup (this particular one isn't included in Chief's Kohler catalog). The sconce is all one material when I import it into Chief, so I'm unable to make the glass clear and fixture chrome like I need it to be. Is there a way to edit this type of issue in Chief? Or do I need to learn how to use Sketchup now too? 32253-SC02.skp
  11. I know this is an old thread but I was trying to figure it out myself and found a bit of a workaround... Thought I'd leave it here in case anyone else is looking for a solution Tried the Alexandria door but as mentioned above, it looks terrible with multiple different sizes of doors/drawers. This is what I do now: Use the "Slim-Shaker" door from Cabinet Doors No. 2 Paint the center panel "Linear Narrow Glass" from Materials>Glass & Glazing>Textured Glass Blend your cabinet colour with the linear glass. Then Adjust Material Definition to remove the transparency of the glass. I've added it to some drawer fronts here - uniform through different widths:
  12. Ah, here's what the exported image looks like: I guess I'll be sending to layout as an image instead - that seems to have worked.
  13. Hi, Yes, using "Chief Architect Save As PDF". Yes, I've tried deleting and resending. Seems like the consensus is to just send as a picture to layout or save as a picture and import. I'll do that as a workaround in these instances. Thanks all
  14. This has happened to me on a few occasions - not sure if it's a glitch or something in my camera settings. Tried changing camera angles, tried a different mirror material out of the library, all to no avail. How it looks on my layout file: How it looks on the PDF: Another example: Layout file vs generated PDF
  15. That option is greyed out on my dialog box.
  16. Are you still having this issue or was it ever resolved? I'm experiencing the same thing with every semi-large layout file - ready to rip my hair out. Tried both suggestions above to no avail.
  17. Hi, I'm not sure if I've changed some type of setting or what's happened but now when I enter the Global Macro %date.long%, the day of the week is included when it never was before. I'd prefer the day of the week not to show... Screenshot from a PDF I just created last week: Now the date shows up like this: Any idea what's happened here? Thank you!!
  18. I think he was looking at the Open Box one for $1899.99. From what I can tell, the only difference in specs from the Best Buy one he recommended and the CC one you did would be the processor? AMD vs i7? Can you upgrade RAM later on these? How can you tell from the specs? I think I'd likely take it as is for now with 16GB RAM and then upgrade later if it's a possibility.
  19. Sorry my mistake lol. The price I saw was in CAD but once I added the video card, RAM, OS, etc it came out to over $3000 CAD. The newest one suggested by the IT guy is around $2000 CAD.
  20. I'm assuming this is in USD though...?
  21. Still going back and forth on this... IT guy suggested this one now vs the original: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/asus-tuf-gaming-a15-15-6-gaming-laptop-mecha-grey-amd-ryzen-9-7940hs-1tb-sdd-16gb-ram-rtx-4070/16693539 Original: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=234878
  22. Or this one at $1799? RTX 4070 and 16GB but with i7 https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=237633 Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm gathering that ideal would be i9, 32GB RAM and either a RTX 3080 or 4070? Something will have to give there though due to cost - just not sure what to sacrifice first lol.
  23. I think these would be viable options and ones I'd be comfortable suggesting based on price point: 1) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=234878 (original, $1699) 2) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=187823 (better video card but 16GB RAM? $1749) 3) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=243885 (same video card but 32GB RAM? $1889) 4) https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=710_4419&item_id=239806 (same video card but 32GB RAM - $1499 - why is this one so much cheaper? lol) Will all of the above allow me to do RTRT? Thanks to all of you for your help!!
