  1. I can do that, and I know that works, but it seems silly.  Every other program I use can' plot to the HP, just not Chief.  If I have to plot to pdf and then plot to the HP, it makes printing very, very slow.  thanks for the tip though.

  2. I have an older HP 800 plotter.  It works fine in Windows 10, and I have autocad and it also works well with Autocad Architecture.  But when I try to plot anything to it from Chief Archtiect x12, I get an error message stating that the plotter is reporting a dpi of 0, and of course it won't print anything from Chief.  Am I doing something wrong?

  3. Hi all, sorry to keep bombarding all of you with questions.  When I send an image to layout, there used to be a way to create a border around it way back in X1.  Is there a way to do that still?  I don't see it.  Thanks for all your help.

  4. Is there a way to show roof planes one floor up?  When i try to do the Roof plan for the layout, it only shows one floor and the roof for that, but the main floor which has some separate roof, doesn't show.  Am I doing something wrong?

  5. David,

It took me a couple of minutes to figure out what you were saying, but I did figure it out.  This is PERFECT!  Thank you so much!  This was one of the issues that drove me crazy in X1 and I never did figure it out, so thank you again!

  6. Thanks everyone, but I'm not sure how either of these methods works.  If I do point to point, it says to hit the double center arrows button and then pick the second point, but it picks the center of the cad drawing rather than a specific point.  I'm not even remotely understanding the copy, place and hold idea.  Sorry, new to X12, haven't really used Chief since X1.
