  1. I'm pretty sure I've solved this before, but my aging brain is giving me problems today. How does one enable the deck to show up when it's over a section of roof? Any help would be most appreciated.

  2. After viewing many threads and FAQs, I still don't see a straightforward way to achieve this, and I've been a power user for decades. I've been using X17 for a while, with the normal complaints about Managed Mode requiring an export of each project to work on a different machine. That's old news. But now, with a completely new, and ridiculously expensive PC, I see no logical way to export ALL my data to the new machine.

I've copied and pasted all the Program Data into the corresponding folders on the new machine. Same with User Data, like toolbars, etc. Nothing is showing up on the new PC, regardless of using mangaged or unmangaged mode. Downloading everything from the Chief website would be time-consuming and wasteful since I already have the files on the old machine.

Even when exporting the User Library, the only library that can be exported, hundreds of textures are missing during the export process. I didn't bother trying to import into the new PC since so many textures were missing.

  3. This is probably simple, but I've not encountered it for a long time and don't remember the solution. While the walls are still present, the rooms are gone, as are their floors. When I turn on wall framing, it has raised about a foot as evidenced by the framing showing up at the bottom of the windows in 3D. Other elements raised too, like the exterior stone and its cap.

The plan was created in X16, and I've had the same issue when bringing it forward to X17.

The plan is too large to attach here, but if you want to take a look, it can be downloaded here for X17: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/s6clgf0pou6t0vds9nb7b/PELLEGRINO-16-6.caproj?rlkey=wihf3j2ih78g96rdrp336vf53&dl=0

  4. Seems like there's a missing option in the roof dialog. If we could separate rafter tails from the rafters (calling them something else, of course), we could vertically offset them to be below the soffit. To my uneducated coding mind, it sounds simple. I suppose it's not.

  5. I'm looking for suggestions on the easiest way to replicate the corbels. Rafter tails are not an option because the corbels are below the soffits. Manually attaching them to the horizontal elements should be simple, or so I assume, but I wonder if there's an automatic method. This abandoned home will eventually be a beauty once the squatters and their poop have been permanently removed.

  6. Looking at past threads, this topic has come up repeatedly. Since it's been a while, I'm asking anew: Is there a setting that will cause a backdrop to NOT color a scene? I can do it with images, or in Photoshop, but has Chief implemented a button that I don't know about to fix this? The attached scene is entirely too green when a forest backdrop is deployed.

  7. Since getting a new machine, the library content other than Core and User is online only. Does anyone know if there's a way to download all at once? Otherwise, it means selecting each folder in the library individually to download them. That would be an unnecessary waste of time.
