  1. Dear CA Mac users

I have a general question regarding the rendering of heavy full perspective overview files by using a mac. When doing submissions to the city council to get a building permit there is no issue. But when doing marketing materials and adding e.g. modern furniture and decoration, the images obviously get very data heavy and the rendering process slows down from 2 or 3 images to 0 images per second (it is actually not 0, but somewhere between 0 and 1). My current setup is as follows:

CA Premier X17, MacbookPro, Apple M1 Max, 64GB

Apple states on its website regarding the M5 computer chip:

Up to 8x faster AI performance than the M1 family

A powerful Neural Accelerator is built into each GPU core of the M5 family of chips, which dramatically speeds up AI tasks like image generation from diffusion models, large language model (LLM) prompt processing, and on-device transformer model training. The 16-core Neural Engine drives Apple Intelligence features, making on-device AI powerful and energy efficient.

Does anyone have experience what the impact is on the CA rendering speed when comparing a new M5 Max chip to an earlier model?

    Any advice is highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Benny
