  1. I want to place a 42 inch built-in fridge in a 48 inch opening. Would furring strips or studs be best to close the 6 inch gap for drywall? If furring strips, CA help suggests adding an additional layer to the wall segment, or for studs, adding another 6-inch adjacent wall. What would be your approach?
  2. Thanks Mark, Editing the materials on my copy of the symbol worked great! And thanks for reminding me to use defaults to save lots of time painting materials.
  3. I just noticed in help that this is unavailable for library doors...
  4. I'm trying to use glass doors at the top of a full-size cabinet, but the "glass doors" checkbox is disabled. My plan file is 32MB and I've already used the "save as" cleanup, so I zipped it. House3.zip
  5. Thanks Eric, I know I didn't change those default settings intentionally. I can only assume that during some experimentation with railings I hit the "set as default button" by mistake. I'll be carefully checking defaults the next time I encounter unexpected behavior. Makes me want to move that "set as default" button somewhere I'm less likely to hit it. Is "Edit Area, copy, delete, paste/hold" to restore the default structure on the entire floor? I'm surprised that the paste/hold doesn't bring the structure of the copied floor on the clipboard with it. Two great tips!
  6. Thanks Ryan, I previously tried the open above tool and it shows the same behavior. Seems to show the same results as making the stairwell manually.
  7. Thanks Michael, I got the structure of that room back to normal. But when I put the railings/open to below room in, the surrounding room structure changed from "Ceiling below" to "SWT below". I'll see if I can re-create that behavior with a simple two-floor plan.
  8. When I use AutoStairwell, or position railings manually on the floor above, the room with the railings changes to a concrete floor. With either AutoStairwell, or manually placing railings with open below, there is concrete overhang in the opening. Plan is attached. Can someone point me in the right direction? House2.plan
  9. Like magic Chopsaw. The "save as" reduced it from 154MB back to 23MB. Thanks gents! House2.plan
  10. After a few days of tweaking my design, my plan file has grown from 22MB to 155MB. I've added some panels and some lighting over the last two days in the same two-room area. I haven't added anything to the library, or added any furniture. I have been experimenting with multiple rendering techniques including Ray Tracing. I don't know if the results of that experimentation ends up consuming space in the plan file. I've attached an image of the two rooms, but the plan file is too big to upload.
  11. Eureka! On the Accessories panel, "Full Overlay" remains grayed out until "Full Size Panel" has been checked. So the missing step is: D- On the Accessories panel, check the "Full Size Panel", and then the "Full Overlay" checkboxes. Thanks Eric and Mick!
  12. Eureka! On the Accessories panel, "Full Overlay" remains grayed out until "Full Size Panel" has been checked. So the missing step is: D-On the Accessories panel, Check the "Full Size Panel", and then the "Full Overlay" check boxes. Thanks Eric!
  13. That's right Mick. On the accessories panel, "Full Overlay" is grayed out. I'm beginning to suspect this has something to do with the object that I'm selecting from the library on the Accessories page: Architectural->Cabinet Doors, Drawers, & Panels->Doors->Framed Panel Door.
  14. Trying to upload the plan but I'm getting error -200. The plan file is 21MB.
  15. A-set the side to either paneled or auto paneled B-select full overlay C-SPECIFY the door style in the accessories tab, panels, selecting from the library. Actually, I did follow the steps above. Note that in cspec5, after selecting the library object the panel style is "Framed Panel Door". Is there a step that I missed?
  16. Mark M - I followed your steps, but the result was the same. The side panels stop at the end of the cabinet box and do not overlay the front doors.
  17. Here's what full overlay custom side panels look like with independent door objects positioned "as a fixture" flush to the cabinet sides but independent of the cabinet as per CA support. Seems ok. I'll try Mark M's approach now. House2.plan
  18. SSA support says that they will submit a feature request for the side door panel full overlay issue in a future release. In the meantime, they suggested that for this situation, I abandon the use of a custom cabinet side panel, and place a separate 3D door object beside the cabinet with the needed width (not a part of the cabinet object) .
  19. Thanks Eric and Ryan. On the bottom door, the handle was already set to 3" from top but displayed as centered. So I changed it to 2" from top, then back to 3", and it jumped into the expected place. I'll call Chief to report the custom overlay panel issue.
  20. Thanks Eric, 1. Toe kick: Per your guidance, changed toe kick height and depth to 0" and that seems to do it. Solved! 2. Full overlay: From the earlier thread, it looks like an issue specific to custom side panels as opposed to a flat panel which works. Should I report this as a bug? 3. I am using the original template that shipped with X11 last week. Not sure where to go from here on this one.
  21. Full height cabinet with custom panels on front and right side. 1. I can't figure out how to eliminate the toe kick from the cabinet box. 2. I can't move the bottom door handle to the top and the top door handle to the bottom. I'm not seeing an option to position the handles independently for the two doors in the full height cabinet. 3. I can't get the side panel to extend "full overlay" to the face of the front panels (it only comes forward to the edge of the cabinet box). I see the full overlay option under "Accessories", but this has no effect on the front vertical corner. House.plan
