Radeon W6800 System Crashes Reliably in Ray-Trace Views
williambentley2 replied to williambentley2's topic in General Q & A
I use a Ryzen 5950x and B550 MB chipset (64GB RAM) -
Hello all, I use a Radeon W6800x in my system. Over the past few months, any time physical-based rendering (raytracing) is employed, my entire system shuts down. All drivers are updated. What I would like to know is what information should I tell technical support to help them identify the potential nexus between their code and the driver (which blows up the video card). I presume its spiking the GPU and causing an immediate temperature spike and an auto-abort from the BIOS. Note: I use D5, Sketchup, Twinmotion and Enscape. This doesn't happen in any of those programs. I'm at a loss as to where to start. Please advise!

By the way, did you correct the geometry of the GIS files in something like QGIS or ArcGIS (using projections)? Might this have had an effect on your resulting files? You have the option to input (~1m) accurate vector maps and then project from there. You also can take that data and import it into TM (without needing to use raster-based raised topography). I hope I'm not butting in here...thanks!

I apologize for not being more adept at this, but I've created a simple furred wall type and I want to easily access it, rather than always have to change the default wall type for interior walls (which I would like to keep). I am quite certain this is easy, but I am also quite certain that I am missing the primary method for achieving this. Thanks to anyone ahead of time who has the secret to this riddle.

They should frankly fix this sooner rather than later. It is a serious flaw in the CAD aspect of this program. What it does not allow for is the ability to apply lettering onto 3D scenes seamlessly. I end up using CorelDRAW, but I could just as easily use sketchup or Illustrator. It's just a kuldgy way to handle text when you need it to be applied as polylines.
