  1. It's glitchy. I was just working on one and it actually said i had a critical error, i had to shut the whole thing down. I really don't think it's my computer, it's only a year old and i'm not having issues with anything else - or even any other plans.
  2. Can someone tell me how to convert a CA Designer plan to Chief Architect? I had Designer for a bit and now using A 11. When i just open a plan i previously worked on in Designer the walls i insert in Architect are a different color but most of all i seem to have technical difficulties with these plans.
  3. This was the response from Technical Support, note i replied back that i was very surprised a software this nice and expensive didn't have this included, and i hope it will be added via an update at some point. Thank you Eric, i will look into Ruby. Thank you Dshall, i will look into both you mentioned, i also need this for every home i do and will definitely need a better solution than adding each room up individually with a calculator. "Unfortunately, these are not included in our program. A few workarounds would be to use CAD boxes/polylines to outline the area you want to calculate the square footage of and then when you open the CAD box/polyline it'll give you the area. If there are some that are disconnected, you'll just have to manually add them together and use a text box to show that square foot number of it all added up. The article below will show you all the ways we can calculate square footage. Changing how Square Footage is Calculated: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00424/changing-how-square-footage-is-calculated.html "
  4. this info should be available, its usually present on other plans. I'll email customer service. thank you though
  5. No, large house, multiple rooms and monolithic slab so i need the whole thing (and then want to show the breakdown of what is living and what is porch)
  6. Even if i'm just able to show it on one of the layout pages in the construction documents that would be great
  7. Id like to show the overall living (already displayed) then below it overall slab sq ft and overall porch sq ft. I did the individual rooms but i'd like to display the totals instead.
  8. Hello Every time i export pictures they are not very clear. Attaching a quick sample (not an actual plan, just something to show the blur) If you zoom in at all you will see it's not clear. Specifically the house I'm working on right now is quite long and the exported pictures are terrible!! I am overlooking something. If someone could let me know how to export pictures properly (for layout and just for a picture file) i would appreciate it!
  9. Hello Can someone please let me know how to show the slab and porch square feet in addition to the living square feet?
  10. I'm using Chief Architect Premier X11 I have all these little 'X's can someone please tell me how to get rid of them? I've been really playing around with the roof and i THINK they are from that but at the same time i have a couple random ones outside where the roof is -- i cannot get them to go away. Help! thanks in advance Lauren
  11. I have a persistent problem with gaps in my porch ceilings in between the finished surface and the underside of the roof structure. I know it has to be a setting i have wrong but i cannot figure it out! Current project is a barndominium with a gable porch. Thanks in advance
