Are you sure you are converting those polyline solids to solids?  You have to click on "Convert To Solid", and you don't use "delete", you use "Solid Subtraction".

You 'da man Michael!!! For some reason I did not, although punching through the one side didn't require it, THANKS AGAIN Michael for solving one of my life's mysteries!!!

This may be a stupid question but can that be built as a room with windows instead of poly solid?

Probably with a lot more work! Great out of the box thinking though!

Michael, I really appreciate the video...I tried this and still ZERO results....your method works perfect when going through the direction that the original polyline solid was created...see below (I extended the solid through the roof and tried to add the hole above so that it would be easier to see):

Hole added using your method above the roof

Solid turned 90 degrees (not the direction that the solid was made)

Followed same process that created the original hole above the roof but when I clicked "delete" the solid disappeared but no hole....

What's strange is that I can add holes all day long on the front face (where the poly solid was created) but for whatever reason when I try on the side it just adds a 1" solid even though I have selected "hole"!

I'm trying to add a hole to the side of this chimney chase to match the ones on the front faces.

This is giving me fits!!!

Craigevans...not sure if this house has been built but I took the opportunity for a few exterior "design tweaks" with the roof line...just something that I enjoy doing.  You might not like the changes to the roofline but I thought that it could use a bit more of a "Custom" look and keep the focus on the Entry and main part of the house and not be distracted by the small hip roof on the last garage stall.  All I did was swap which garage stall stood forward the most and then proceeded to tweak the roofline without any other structural changes.  I also played with an option for you with a Gabled Entry to further add focus and definition as a focal point.  I also used my Rendering settings and let it rip over night for 12 hours....hope you like!  The first pic shows the old vs new Elevation, the 2nd your roofline, the 3rd using my roofline with the 12 hour Raytrace and then the 4th with a Gabled Entry.  I'd be curious for other's feedback as well!
