  1. This is an example of a connecting wing that might be used to connect an addition to the existing home. The interior walls are not connected to the roof planes. It's kind of like building a house under a tent. So Chief can be 'tricked' and do this efficiently? Not cad lines, but the fast way that chief can draw a structure?
  2. I have muscled out a 2d Cad drawing of this existing house. Now, I need to design an addition that's geometrically compatible to the As-Built. Can Chief draw this? The challenge is to create several options, without burning a ton of time in Sketchup or 2d Cad. I'm fine hiring a Chief expert. I don't need working drawings - just enough 3d vectors to make a construction drawing from. I don't need windows, just the ability to have a Chief expert experiment with me on various roof planes in zoom meetings until I find an acceptable shape. Yes, this unusual home is a brain-tease TIA. 3. Assuming price and application knowledge is not an obstacle, what's the best software to use for creating symbols to then be used in Chief X12? SolidWorks? or ... Assuming price is somewhat of an obstacle, but application knowledge is present, what's the best software to use for creating Chief symbols? Fusion 360? or ... Sure there is Sketchup, however, thinking ahead and knowing that modification of a symbol will be needed, the ability to create components and then work in layers, enabling various derivatives of a symbol to be created - without always starting essentially from scratch - is using Sketchup realistic, or - over time - it just takes up too much valuable time to justify it's low cost? 4. I am looking for a skilled Chief designer to take my topographical survey (a 45 degree hill with 90 feet of vertical fall - behind my home) and model the hill. Then, design a deck and stairs that fit into the hill. I'm also going to incorporate a tram. I'm a semi-retired design/build contractor and while I am experienced in residential design, I'm not a solids modeling expert. Recognizing that modeling the terrain is an essential beginning to this project, I'd appreciate collaborating with a chief expert. So it's a 3-part project: 1) Model the terrain 2) Design a deck and stairs 3) Integrate removeable screen panels into the deck design. I'll get a local engineer to design the frost footings and basic deck structure, so don't be concerned about structural knowledge. I'll provide inspiration photos to make the design communication work smoothly. I have the AutoCad 3d topo file. TIA
