  1. Ok that was the conclusion I was coming to unfortunately. Thanks for the info btw... Just so I understand - based on above, the import Layer set function from the Legacy Import would technically only serve a purpose one time (if you had a currently backed up .layers file initially, before migrating to x17). Because there's no way to export "new" or "edited" layersets from a current plan. That is, you can't create new .layers files to import from the Legacy Import. I guess, in other words, you MUST use a template and if you change layersets in the plan you're working in, you must then manually update the Template. Meaning, every change to a layerset will probably happen twice. Once for the plan you currently working in and then a second time for the Template. If this is accurate, then it seems more cumbersome than before.
  2. From the Aug 23 thread - I understand you have the Import Legacy settings. I would assume, though, there would still be a way to export or create a .layers file? I can only find where you can import a previously created layer set file. Previously, meaning before x17. I did turn off Project Mgt but the option for exporting layer sets still was missing.
  3. yep, removed all separations, etc. and installed the symbols - perfect. Thanks for the tips
  4. may be dumb, but how did you differentiate materials between the actual doors (which should show a stainless finish) and the door panel (which should show the brick)?
  5. Anyway to get the pattern direction to agree on separations??
  6. Wow, gamechanger. That was it, I've been looking for that forever. Should've posted long ago. Thanks so much for the help
  7. Thanks to both, the status bar is the quick reference I was looking for. Does the ALDO change automatically when you select a different object? Right now, mine does not.
  8. Is there a way to show the layer an object is on without opening the object specifications? Maybe down on the bottom bar (not sure what it's called)
  9. Thx Joe, I will probably have to wait - thx for the help anyway
  10. Thx Joe, I'm pretty green on macros. Could you point me in the right direction on doing this? I'm assuming a custom macro in the window labels and then would the "Number" column report the macros accordingly?

  12. Eric - yes that was the idea, place a schedule that can be referenced on F1 floor plan for F1 windows and another on F2 floor plan for F2 windows. I did not want to start the numbering over at "1" when I changed floors.
  13. I would like to show a window schedule on first floor and begin numbering for windows, say numbers 1-10. Then, I would like to show a second floor schedule that picks up the numbering where the first floor numbering left off, 11-16 or whatever. Is this possible to do with the schedule feature?
  14. Great help - thanks to both of you
  15. Is there a way to show the portion of the wall above the wall height when using a wall elevation camera? For example, the "gable" portion of a wall in a vaulted living room.
