I am doing a lot of post and beam stuff these days. I have done all the framing and etc but cannot find where I can add an 8" x 42" footing under the posts Dennis Scharp x14

While closing a drawing I incurred problems. I cant remember exactly what the dialog box said but it was something about missing packet. I was unable to close by answering save. WhenI hit dont save it wouldnt close for quite awhile. When I reopen the drawing, my last nine hours of work was gone. Does this software automatically archive drawings. If so can I retrieve this missing drawing i use x14

When I send a drawing from plan mode to layout, it show up in 3d…colored and etc. i want to be able to do all my layouts in 2d black and white

Is there a way to have the walls and ceiling of a foundation, drywalled quickly

Not really. I draw the first floor. Then hit build foundation. I want my stem wall at 37 1/2 and the ceiling height to be 109 1/8”. If I change any height, the other values will automatically change, even though I dont want them to. Saying they are related is of no help. I should, in my opinion be able to control what each value states.

I dont know how to do screen captures. I believe my post is very clear.

I am using X13. In room specifications, when I change a room height, all the other variable change as well. Is there a way to lock the different heights? I am perplexed why the computer changes my desired heights

I see the copy and paste button under edit. By I cannot grasp how to copy something of another jpeg drawing, copy it and paste it onto one of my drawings. Thanks in advance

I am using x12 I used to have the standard width on my scrollbars. Now they are tiny and it makes it hard to use them. Help

For some unknown reason my scroll bars are now substantially smaller. They work and etc but are more time consuming to find and operate. HELP

I just updated to X12. On previous versions I used the Break Wall button frequently. I have looked everywhere for it in the new version. Where the heck is it located....TIA

When I first started in CA, each wall size etc had different color lines. Now all the lines for walls are varying shades of grey. How can I fix this? I have never intentionally changed the colors. Thanks

I have version 10. Recently I received plans drawn in version 9 CA. I could see all details in 2D but when I tried in 3D, there was nothing. I am guessing that the plans were drawn without regarding to setting up details for 3D. Is there anyway I can convert his drawings to 3D without redrawing the whole plan?

I have version 10. I recently received plans from a designer that were drawn in CA version 9. In 2D I see everything but in 3D camera I see nothing. I am guessing he didn't have his defaults set etc. What is the easiest way for me to view the plan in 3D without drawing it myself

When I first opened Chief, there were both horizontal and vertical sliders that helped move the drawing around to the area I wanted to work on. I also used them to recenter and resize the drawing. Now both sliders have disappeared. Obviously, I have turned them off somewhere, but I will be darned if I can find em again....a little help from my friends please...
