Hello Everyone, What would be a reasonable amount of time to create a room and stage it with furniture? My process is importing a CAD file, tracing the walls, add windows and doors that resemble actual photos taken of the space, match wall color, carpet, dropping in furniture and applying fabrics the customer selects. I usually create a 360 photo of the finished room and a layout containing 6 pages. A 2d layout, a perspective floor overview, and 4 photos of the room. I've attached a photo from one of my projects. I think it usually take me about 2.5hrs for a room if it isn't to complex. Thank you, Jason

I reset everything before it worked again. Thank you!! I don't know if I would have been able to find that on my own. -

Can not import dwg after installing update.

Thank you for the advice. This time it is not working. I can import a pdf, picture, or even a symbol but not a dwg. Strange. -
I installed an update a couple days ago. Now, when I select import dwg nothing happens. The tool bar containing File, Edit, Terrain, etc is grayed out and there is not a window to select a file to open. Everything on screen is froze, I have to hit escape in order to get out of it. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Losing CAD Layers while importing 3D symbol

I think I've got it now. It appears something had changed in my AutoCAD Layers properties manager. Thank you all for your suggestions! -
Losing CAD Layers while importing 3D symbol
JRSaudermanu replied to JRSaudermanu's topic in General Q & A
Sorry, I'm referring to the materials as layers. I am guessing it is a problem in AutoCAD. I'm taking a Solidworks file, saving it as a step file. Then I import it into AutoCAD and explode it. I then create a layer for every different material. I created 12 different layers in AutoCAD so there would be 12 different materials in Chief Architect. I am then able to apply different wood grain, metal finishes and fabrics to the symbol. But with this model I am missing the materials I have named Layers 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12. -
Hello, I'm new to the form. My question is if anyone else is losing CAD layers while using Import 3D Symbol? I have a model that in AutoCAD contained 12 Layers. When I bring it into CAx11 it only has 4 layers plus the default Layer 0. I did not run into this in x9 and x10.
