  1. Thanks. I made the changes as you suggested, but still the same result. In the project browser, I clicked on the "Floor Plan View Dimensioned" and set the pony wall to show the upper wall and the lower wall outline. I did the same for the "Foundation and Footings" Plan View, then under the pony wall specification made it to "lower wall". But the two are still linked, and a change to one saved plan view changes the other one and vice versa. They simply will not act independently of each other.
  2. Where do I find the "Level" for the foundation plan and the upper walls plan?
  3. No idea what I missed in the responses, but still acting the same way. So I will save the foundation plan as a CAD file and do it that way. Thanks for your responses.
  4. This house is a Bi-Level. The lower walls are pony wall. I have two Saved Plan Views I send to the layout. The First one is called "Floor Plan View Dimensioned" When I send this to the layout, Iwant the lower level pony walls to display the upper part of the pony wall and the lower wall outline. The Second one is called "Foundation And Footings PlanView" . When I send this to the layout, I want only the lower portion of the pony wall to display. So, withe the "Floor Plan View Dimensioned" plan view open, I select the exterior walls, and under the WallsType tab I select the option for displaying the upper pony wall and the outline for the loer wall. Works great, just whatI want so I go the Project Browser and save this plan view. Off itgoes to the Layout page. Next, I switch to the "Foundation and Footings Plan View" and under the Walls Type option I select "lower wall". Then in the Project Browser I save the plan view. So, in theory, the Floor Plan Dimensioned plan view when sent to the Layout should show the Upper Wall, and the outline for the Lower Wall. The Foundation and Footings Plan View wnen sent to the layout should show only the lower wall. But, the walls show up in both plan views as whateve I had opened last. They do not keep their individual characteristics, and I cannot get both plan views to only show the walls as I want them to be shown. So, if there is a trick to this, please let me know. The plan is attached. Many thanks in advance. BiLevel 5230.zip
  5. Thanks, for now I am doing it manually; faster than trying to fix something when I am not sure what is wrong.
  6. oops...here it is The snipping tool is not the problem...old age is the problem!
  7. Attached is a screen shot (file is too big to upload) of a story pole I want to adjust. I would like all of the elevation markers to appear on the right side of the vertical story pole line, I circled the culprit and would like to move it over to the other side. How do I do this? Thanks in advance
  8. This plan is an addition to an existing building. For the exterior full camera overview, I do not want the existing building to show. The existing building walls are on a separate layer which is turned off. The existing walls do not show in the camera views, which is what I want. However, the floor and ceilings of the existing building do show up in the camera views. How can I hide the existing floors and ceilings in the camera views. The plan is larger than 14 MB, so it cannot be uploaded. A picture is attached Lane
  9. When I did the roof framing, the rafters do not extend to the sub fascia. The walls are about 24" (Granite and Brick, old castle built around 1850 on the Hudson River) but the roof baseline is where it should be at the exterior of the wall. Any suggestions how to fix this? the file is attached. Thanks in advance. Rafters.pdf 2022-05-17 Plan File.plan
  10. Once a floor plan, roof, windows, doors, etc is drawn, is there a way to exclude some of the walls and floors from framing when you build the framing? Thanks in advance. Lane
  11. When I draw a particular deck at the rear of this house, none of the framing shows up in any of the views. The railings show, but nothing else. If I draw the deck on another section of the building, everything shows up fine. What the deck am I doing wrong? My plan is attached. Thanks in advance for any assistance! 953691368_McllwainePlanFile.plan
  12. Thanks everyone! With my extremely limited computer knowledge, looks like I need system that used the good old #2 HB pencils. A couple of erasing shields, maybe a leroy lettering set! Regards, Lane
  13. Thanks! That's two votes for the 3070Ti or better, so that will get upgraded. The 1 or 2 TB drive seems like a good idea too. "Something is not quite right as the Intel Z690 uses Intel CPUs and you have a Ryzen CPU listed which is from AMD"....thanks for pointing this out, I have to check with HP to see why they listed it this way.
  14. It's time to buy a new computer. This is what I am looking at: I really don't know much about computers, and I really do not want to rely on the salesman for information, so if anyone has any information about how good (or bad) this configuration is, it would certainly help and I would appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance. 15. This building has a cathedral ceiling with a railing on the second floor that defines a balcony area looking out into the room below. But, I can't get the gable wall to behave so that the upper portion is a full gable wall (where the wall portion is above the roof) and the lower part of the gable wall is a railing. Any help is greatly appreciated. The plan file is attached. Thanks! Mcllwaine Plan File.plan
