  1. Mike,

Not sure if this will help but, change material to "Stainless Steel" as found in "Bonus catalogs" - Kitchen styles - international contemporary - materials - stainless steel.

  2. Steve, That happened to me.  In my case, the on-board graphics card in the HP laptop was being used by CA, not the Nvidia card.  When I switched to the Nvidia card, everything was fine.  I think I did that by accessing the Nvidia control panel and checking use for Chief Architect.  Been a while - hope this helps.

  3. If you are using Windows, check to make sure Chief is using the correct graphics card.  I had that problem when I switched to windows 10.  I have a laptop and windows 10 reverted back to the onboard intel graphics card to save battery power.  Right click on desktop to get to the graphics settings and set quality to max and that Chief is designated as using the right card.  This is all assuming that you have an external graphics card.

The 3dconnection mouse works like a champ in X8.  Takes a bit of time to get used to it. See choice in Preferences, Render for 3d mouse.

Also, seems as if walk-throughs have been improved.

So far, no major problems  with X8.  I love it.

  5. Larry, I use a Canon ix6520 which I bought for about $119 on sale 3 years ago.  Prints color and 11x17.  Now not available but the Canon ix6820 is the replacement and lists for $136 on line.  I do most of my work using it and use print house for larger pages.  Send to them by e-mail using PDF.  Picture quality is good enough for color renderings and presentations using photo paper.

  6. Hi ACAD (me too since Version 2.5)

To get the model correct, in plan (1st floor), widen the step over the basement stair to cover the dividing wall.  Take a look with a camera view.  You should now have an open stairway but with a railing blocking landings.  Select the landing railing you want to eliminate.  Open DBX and check "eliminate railing on this edge".

From a CAD viewpoint in the plan view, I usually turn off "stairs...." layers and make my own layer "Stairs CAD" and using cad lines, draw what I want on the plan view with break lines, up and down arrows, etc.

I think this is what you want.

BTW, I know you miss the snow there in Florida,  I have some snow here we can send if you want!

  7. Looks good.  If plants are 3d, turn a couple and increase/decrease size.  Also, add some furniture inside as well as some window treatments.  Size of lights by garage a bit large.  Maybe add a fence in the distance to mask break between backdrop and terrain.  Perhaps, a stone walk and another material for the drive. Other ideas???
