  1. Ok, got it to work. I had rebooted my machine, but we needed to reboot his machine. Thank you Chopsaw for your efforts.
  2. I would agree on file size. what is crazy is from my computer the file size is zero bytes and when I view that same file from his computer I can see that it is 5.6 meg. It also show zero bytes from on my MacBook. I just don't know if its a cloud issue, computer issue or Chief issue on his license (him changing some default)
  3. I have 3 different stations with 2 going at the same time. I do the design, and my draftsman does the work. If I create the plan or layout, he has no problem opening, working and saving. However, once he opens the file and works on it, I can not longer access it. I can see it in the folder, but I get message in the picture that I have attached. I am running 2 licenses of X12 on an IMAC (mine) and a Mac mini (draftsman), all of my files are on my iCloud. I have not ever encountered before as I personally go between my MacBook and IMAC if I am at the office or remote. I am at a loss here I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has encountered this problem before and know how to remedy it. Thank you in advance. Gene
  4. This forum never fails with it's wisdom. I had this same problem this morning, and this thread was the first to pop up in my search. Chopsaw, you are the man! Problem solved.
  5. Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you, been super busy. Thank you very much Robert
  6. Good morning. I get this issue from time to time in various plans and it is so frustrating. I am currently working on an existing home that I am drawing the exterior and roof in order to add an addition. My problem is I have 2 different roof pitches on the same roof plane. This is no biggie, I do this all the time by drawing 2 separate planes, change roof pitches and then connect them to get my bell roof on that roof plane. However, every now and then I get this frustrating issue of the two roof planes not wanting to connect. The lower pitch stops at the exterior wall and the higher pitch stops at the face of the stud, i.e. the picture. I need help in figuring out what is going on. Like I said, this happens every now and then and is so frustrating. My solution in the past was to start over, but I am wanting to know the root cause and save me time and money by eliminating this issue all together. I am adding the plan file also if anyone would like to diagnose my issue. I thank you in advance for helping me. abdo existing.plan
  7. Thank you very much Robert!! I tried to recreate the roof plane myself before copying / paste, but I must still be missing something's it did not work. It was better, but not exact. As a result I ended up copy / paste (ing) your roof plane. THANK YOU so much!! Here is what it looks like now, it worked perfect.
  8. Here is the plan stripped down to walls and roof. Again, thank you all for your help. Curved roof issue plan.plan
  9. Good morning. Thank you for the replies. I had to leave a little early yesterday. I will copy the plan and trim it down to the basic necessities.
  10. 1st time working with a curved roof. My problem is when I mate the roof planes, they show mated, but in plan view and 3d view there is an opening in the roof. I am at my whits end on this. What am I missing here? I have attached photos showing the roof planes in question. I appreciate any and all input.
  11. Thank you Eric for your accurate and quick response. . I knew it was an easy fix, but I was just stumped. Have a great day and weekend!
  12. I am certain there is an easy fix, but just can not find it. I have an existing metal building with an existing o.h. roll up door that will be abandoned in place, yet walled off on the interior. Whether I create a single wall showing the girts (main layer) and the studs (interior layer) or create 2 separate walls for the girts and studs, I can not for the life of me figure out how to keep the door opening from showing up on the interior wall (interior picture). Please refer to pictures for visuals. I thank you in advance for your help.
  13. Val, Thank you very much. I knew it had to be simple. Have a great day!! Gene
  14. The first picture of just the house is what I am talking about in x10, the picture with multiple camera views is x9. I am able to rescale the camera view in x9, but only the shape of the layout box in x10. I hope this helps in explaining my problem.
  15. I need help. I have just recently upgraded from x9 to x10. I in the previous versions (6, 9.5, x8, x9 ) I was able to resize and rescale a camera view that I had sent to the layout. The side, top and bottom handles resized the actual box and the corner handles rescaled the view. In x10 the corner handles only change the shape of the camera view layout box, but does not rescale the view itself. What am I missing here? I know that it is probably something simple and right under my nose, but for the life of me I can not figure this out. Thank you for your time and responses.
  16. David, on point #1 You are correct, I wish I could, but the phone keeps ringing and I have to stop it seems like every 5 minutes to put out some sort of fire. on point #2 It was a glitch in the program or machine. I closed down the program and reopned it and ecerything was fine. Thank you so much for responding!! Gene
  17. Ok, so I guess it was just a glitch. I opened other fines and it showed the same issue. I decided to close the program and reopen it, and wa-la it's fixed. Case closed.
  18. Ok, So here's my issue. While I was working something happened, what, I do not know for all the distractions I have running around me at my office. Anyways, just like I always have my dimensions set to the typical example of 1'-2 1/2" in my dimension string, but now the dimension strings reads 14.5 in. I have no idea how I got to this, and therefore have no idea how to get back. I have searched to the best of my knowledge and can find nothing. I know it is just a simple solution, but when you're as brain fatigued as I am even the simplest of things get complicated. Your help will go a long ways in helping bet back to being behind on all my projects. I have attached an example of what is happening. Gene
  19. Michael, THANKS!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!! Many Thanks!
  20. Michael, Thank you for your response. I just tried that to no avail. I even opened a different plan and have the same problem. So frustrating, I can clearly see what you did, but it doesn't work for me.
