i recently had my client pay me with an ipad in order to give me a kick start to using lidar. Anyone have any stories about this latest tech?

my computer recently got hacked and my computer fix-it guy was able to recover most but the layout files have the following error message: C:\p4sync\dev\Releases\22\chief\source\DocumentFactory.cpp(457): Warning #272015538 "Unable to read the file "C:/Users/Henry Sonsona/OneDrive/Desktop/Line Construction/a Line Construction of Hawaii/Line Construction/a Line Construction Job Files/Residential/nee 052820.layout". This file does not have a valid header record." Any suggestions on how to recover layout files. Looks like all layout files are doing this.

Finally did my first terrain build and now how do i create stairs on grade. i used stairs but didn't follow the grade but went straight using constructed stairs; Didn't find anything in terrains that built stairs.

I have been using a drafting service in the Philippines which in this case, the text on his autcad drawings (after converted to Chief) comes in as rich text. When i pick the text to edit, it does not allow me to do anything but delete. Any procedures that i'm missing to clear up this matter?

BEEN USING FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW & IT KEEPS LOCKING UP BETWEEN VIEWS. HAVE TO CLOSE PROGRAM AND RESTART. DID THAT THIS MORNING AND IT'S STILL LOCKED. IS THIS A BUG IN 11 OR AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG AGAIN.

cabinets are defaulted to be one drawer and door. Need a quick do around to make this default cabinet all drawers.

in older versions of chief i remember being able to make a certain layer the current layer. Say i want to draw revisions to a detail that i drew already. The first thing i would do is make my own created layer of "detail" the current layer. How do i do that????? every time i make a line i have to pick it then change it to my detail layer. I would like to do it the old way of making the detail layer current and anything i draw will be that layer. but of course, if i knew the way to do this now by whatever method (that i don't know), then let's hear it!! are you saying to close the view first (after sending to layout), then it will turn off on plan view when i undisplay the camera?

i went into the display options and turned off camera but it does not turn off on the plan and show up on my layout sheets. is there a different method to hide the symbol? Mahalo, Henry Sonsona

what is the procedure to make the labels for the doors and windows bigger on the plan which are part of the window/door schedule?

i've updated all available update thru dell.com. i rebooted to activate but when i opened x7 it still showed that the 2011 video card driver was still active. is there a way to reopen my x4 to get back to work while i wait for my tech guru to arrive on tuesday to help me with the updates?
