Thanks guys. I used the methods you suggested.

I saw the post. You might try a ramp, turn off the default railings, then draw new railings and set them to "follow stairs", then assign a "gap" material to the ramp. Thought straight railing tool would draw a deck over my ramp......Got it. thanks guys
-
The ramp has limited railing options... can I put a custom railing on it?
-
no this temporary ramp is made of wood...... I am trying the ramp and will try drawing the framing in. I'll try the roof plane too..... Just need the bottom of ramp to have angled ends on the joists
-
Has anyone built a wood framed accessibility ramp on CA? Would need decking material for surface.

I wonder why when I made the room garage the defaults didn’t apply to it and reform the foundation ?
-
I did not get that. Maybe try again. Thanks
-
I did the same room properties from the other garage too. But it didn’t change the foundation to the structure tab to the same as the garage with the FLOOR TO SWT setting that I need to adjust the foundation in the attached garage. That structure tab is like an interior room. I even deleted it and rebuilt but no luck. Very strange

I have an attached garage on a plan but the structure dbx is not opening "FLOOR TO SWT". It does not even show it dbx, like an interior room. I have another detached garage in the plan. Could that be the reason? I renamed the detached garaged something else but the attached garage structure tab dbx remained like an interior room....... I even deleted the detached garage and no change with the attached garage structure tab.... any ideas..? Using X11. Carroll_Plan.plan

Annoying truss envelope at tail: how to eliminate?
RJBPILOT replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
Thanks, yeah I thought I tried that earlier....... the alcove is a stairwell. I am sure I have generated trusses in this same situation before. Doesn't make sense why it won't on the other end of the building... Have a good one. -

I wouldn't have to edit it if it formed properly..... I have never had this happen before. It's pissing me off...... -

Annoying truss envelope at tail: how to eliminate?
RJBPILOT replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
My first problem was this... The square cuts did form properly..... but the entire truss was not generating properly. Then when I edited it and created the entire truss it made plumb cuts when I locked the envelope. If I don't lock the envelope then I get all these multiple copies of this broken truss. What causes this truss to not generate properly??? -

Thanks for the editing tips. I have the same issue with a square cut eave. I did all the editing and had it perfect but when I locked the truss envelope and multiple copied it the trusses reverted to plumb cuts. Any ideas how top prevent it? -
I am doing an as-built plan for a client and it has a wood foundation- 2 x 8 treated studs and 1/2 treated plywood on the exterior with waterproofing... I am having trouble creating the walls to have the studs generate. Anyone have to make one of these? There are no options in foundation wall types. I need the studs spaced at 12" oc.

Thanks much guys. I appreciate the assistance.

Actually he just made the second floor a full floor.....not open below like my original. The label is the same and so are the floor numbers on his alteration. Exactly as mine.... He did not ADD as floor as you suggested..... both plans are 0,1 and 2. Both plans have 0 labeled as Basement. So I fail to see how your point is valid. I deleted the open below on my floor 2 as Mark did and made it a full floor. My problem was drawing the stair from the 2nd landing to the floor two (a numbered floor bonus room)..... The only way I could make it work was to manually adjust the stair heights. Thanks for the input and assistance.
-
Mark3d , Thanks for the help...... I just set the heights manually for the third flight. But I would be interested in knowing how you got the third flight to draw from the second landing..
-
If I draw from floor 0 it lowers the landing and tries to just go to the floor 1. If it draw from floor 1 it justs starts from floor 0......... I made a full upstairs on floor 2 as you did but it does not go there.... how do I get the third flight of stairs to start at second landing to go to floor 2 without changing the landing height at floor 1?
-
KBird1, I don't think the label matters, as you can see my plan has floors 0, 1 and 2 which is the attic space where the third stair is going to.
-
Thanks much, but I need it open below like the image..... I modified yours but I can not get my stair tool to draw mine. Did you start the stair on floor 0 or floor 1? It has to have invisible railings to be out in the open air and go up to the landing off of the attic space.

Trying to get stairs to 3rd floor. Stair tool will not go from second floor landing to 3rd floor landing..... Thanks for any help Ames Barn.plan
