An action from the inspector was to add gable endwall bracing to my plan. The choices I think I have are: 1. Import an image. I would like to convert the attached image to a CAD block so that I can add more lateral bracing. 2. Create a lot of CAD lines. Extremely painful Is there a way to copy a number of trusses and the end wall and then convert into CAD objects? Are there CAD blocks of linear lumber already out there? 3. Create a text block Easy to do; but seems counter-intuitive when you are creating 3D views of your plan. I know this is a common detail to add; so I know I am missing something.

Hi Drawzilla, Could you elaborate how to do the CAD lines? I have an action on my plan to specify wall panel bracing. Based on IRC, I was going to use the continuous wood structural panel sheathing (OSB) method for the entire barn. In my plan, I am using Stucco-6 siding which contains that sheathing layer; but I do not know how to show that layer only or use CAD blocks (with the OSB Horizontal block from the library). After I think I followed your steps, 1. The external walls have been extended and moved 2. Framing didn't get rebuilt even though I have auto rebuild on 3. Additional trusses were added 4. Original Gable wall (with attic vent) is still in the original location. 5. Shingle roof properly rebuilt. I have attached 3 pictures to show the above 5 items. I tried the Edit Area (all floors) with no success. Only the bounded area is enlarged; but no framing, foundation, or roof is modified.

I have a plan for a barn (30'x40', external 2x6 framing, 4:12 shingle roof, stucco) complete. I would like to extend the building by 10' on the farthermost wall away from the single entry door which is the left wall in plot plan mode. When I try to extend framing, foundation, etc, I begin to get big disconnects everywhere and missing walls. Need a Chief Architect X8 expert to help finish a detached garage plan. The attached plan needs these items: 1. Roof re-done for a 4:12 pitch 2. Site plan generated 3. Foundation plan with proper elevation (18" above grade) for a monolithic slab. 4. There is no electrical/plumbing 5. Framing plan
