Newbie user here.  I've been searching and reading a lot of posts solving most of  my issues but this one eludes me.

I've learned to create the auto dormers and gotten through most of the wall problems mentioned.

In particular on this design I've created a shed dormer.

The first thing that's odd to me is that it sides the area below the lower roof plane in the attic.  Not that big of a deal but it would be nice if you decide to create a closet space between dormer wall and exterior it wasn't sided below the roof plane. Is there a fix for this?  I can't seem to adjust anything.

The second issue shown in my pic, if you create any wall, (room divider, actual wall, railing etc) inline with that dormer wall below it starts deleting the dormer wall and siding all the way to the shed roof.  I even tried to shorten the wall.  I'm trying to create a railing or room divider so I can open to room below for the stairwell.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

I don't like this solution to the wall problem but it'll do for now.  I used a railing and shifted the dormer wall just enough they don't interfere with each other.  Maybe that's all I can do.  Railings seem to need the least amount shift, even room divider walls interfere over a larger area though they are supposedly 0" wide.

Yes.

Open the wall dialog for that wall, THEN navigate to the ROOF panel on the left. About 2/3 of the way down there is an option "Lower Wall if split by abutting roof" Select that and choose what type of wall it should be below the roof.
