wesdutka
Hi support group! I have included a created plan. When I want to create a cad detail from view for my cross section E5 it comes up as it should showing everything the original cross section showed but when I try to make a cad detail from view for my cross section E6 it doesn't show everything that was on the cross section? I didn't turn off any layers...just did one and it worked fine...did the other and doesn't. I've repeated the steps and the same continues to happen. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance Floor Plan.zip
ChiefTylerL
Hello @wesdutka, You'll see this kind of behavior (and other strange behavior) when your design is very far from the origin point of 0,0. This seems to be the case with this plan as you're currently at -141353 3/16", -46086 5/16". Additionally, when switching to the All Layers On Layer Set I see that there are various items that are also far away from your design. Once you move your plan back towards the origin and either move/delete these far away objects you should be all set! First I would take care of the far away objects. This Knowledge Base article will cover how to find these objects using the All Layers On Layer Set and the Fill Window tool: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00021/troubleshooting-small-or-blank-camera-overviews.html Once those objects are taken care of you can relocate your design back to the origin. This Knowledge Base article will take you through the steps of using the Edit Area (All Floors) tool to bring your design back to the origin: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03124/troubleshooting-origin-error-messages.html Once moved back to 0,0 you will need to open your elevation views, go to Window> Fill Window to bring your elevation back, and then you should be able to create a CAD Detail from View. If you'd like further assistance please reach out through our Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!
Solution wesdutka Posted Friday at 08:39 PM Author Solution Share Posted Friday at 08:39 PM Thank you. I'm not sure how it got so far off the origin point but this solution indeed worked for me perfectly. Thanks for your expertise. 1
