heavy black lines when printing

I sent 2 different pictures from the same plan (roof framing & floor framing) to layout but when I print to PDF, the roof framing picture has normal line weights but the floor plan has lines so heavy I can't even read the text. I'm pretty sure I've seen this topic covered somewhere, but I've spent considerable time searching the forum with no luck. Anybody have any suggestions?
