Designer (or Architect) needed in Anacortes WA

Strandberg Construction is seeking a Lead Designer or Architect; Full Time, in-house position. This person would independently develop, design and prepare complete and accurate working building plans, charts, scale drawings and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/ engineering drafting methods and procedures meeting code requirements with the operation and application of computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and 3D software; Chief Architect preferred.  Have the ability to listen to client and work independently with them to capture individual features, incorporating green building practices, creative design elements and practical building methods to produce complete blueprints and a high quality custom home. At times, this position will be required to meet with potential clients who are inquiring about our company, our services and/or meet potential clients on a site to determine feasibility.  The qualified candidate must be able to be competent to follow our proven design/build process; comfortable to perform site visits carefully reviewing property features, determining ideal location of home, creating conceptual design keeping end budget in mind, providing design guidance on selections, creating final blueprints that are ready for permitting and construction.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with an emphasis on CAD drafting.  5 years residential design/construction experience. 3+ years of Technical Training and some knowledge in electrical wiring, heating and cooling, construction codes and other Engineering disciplines that may be applicable. Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) and a Certified Green Professional (CGP) a plus.

 Wage can vary depending on experience.  Health (medical, dental, vision) and Paid Time Off benefits are offered.
