I know that there is a way to snip and manipulate it in Chief Architect, but I'm using Home Designer Pro 2017. I cannot find a way to cut off the one corner that is running into the living room. However try clicking on the upper corner of that roof plane and pull it over and if you have a join roof planes button on your tool bar click that and see if that doesn't bring the two roof planes together.
