It happens on all layout that are a complete jobs Never use pdf  imported cad or live elevations 

So that is not normal I  guess I may  have to make sure my video card is updated is the only thing I can think of.

Appreciate the response It has been that way on all my layouts I guess i was asking is that normal for everyone. The program works fine other than that

Is it normal that when I am in layout pages the program is not smooth at all. If I zoom in scroll it is extremely jerky 

It has been that way forever but today seems to be the worst. I have an Aleinware year and half old with a nvidia 1080 cad.

I would like to see if someone can help me with some issues I am having. This plan I can not get the gable ends to show.

I keep trying to add a sloping ceiling to form a scissor truss and I cannot get it to show checked I layers ect      

If you look at the section I have a clear story through the whole stable would love to be able to cut the bottom of the for the 2nd floor wall of at the bottom

of the scissor truss 

Any Help id appreciated If we have to take it off the GAMBREL ROOF TO THE FRONT.I would be willing to pay for the help as I am trying to close the design build of the project i guess I do not know how to upload a file

I can figure out why when I imported the DWG file it did not import all the lines I have the pdf and only a fraction of the lines came thru when I imported. TENNIS CLUB 6-13-2018.plan

I am building a project with a lot of changes and it was drawn by an architect. He is really busy and can not keep up with the changes. so i told him to send me the file.

My question is when I draw in the imported file can I use walls and library objects from chief ?? and when i send back to him will it convert to dwg so he can review and print.

I am hoping I do not have to draw in lines and all cad as it will take to long. .

I want to know if the attached stable / barn need to have the roof manually drawn in chief. The building has a ope court yard so I labeled the courtyard open below in the structure tab I set

no roof, floor, or ceiling but the automatic roof keeps putting a roof over courtyard. I know how to build it manually but curious if there was an easier way

This thread got my attention  I am a builder /  draftsman and I love the quick 3d looks for customers I am trying to show space and furniture room to walk around 

I have never used ray trace could never get anyone to pay for. I always tell clients to get pictures in the past but with Houz it is unlimited. to get exactly what they like.

I am working on a very expensive spec  and the group of investors would like a few quality renderings which I am not capable of.  The conversation here is seem to be with a program Thea Is that extremely hard to learn . The software I have researched  was Lumiom which I called and they said it would work with Chief.  Another program that looked to good to be true was pool studio So when I called them to see if I could import the house I drew in chief then add pool and decks which it could not  be done. So my question is are these  rendering programs hard to learn? If I wanted someone to render for me do I post on this board or the board for services.

I have read all the recommendation for new computer. Old ones and the current ones. So I decided to buy an Alienware So I hit on the special 17" 32 ram 512 solid state

and  1070 card app $2700 with 4 year guarantee on everything. So I custom built and just changing to 1080 card is $ 900 more Is the upgraded card worth it ???

This will be my only  computer I work on. I need to be able to work at different locations.

I am buying a new lap top The gaming computers I  am looking at do not offer or mention anything about touch screen.

Is touch screen an advantage?   

I tried cad detail window did not help

The problem when I imported a complete auto cad file or plan It is completely different from what i know in chief. Everything is an individual plan eclectic mechanical foundation ect. not layers 

it appears You have to change every page. which can not be true because no one would use auto cad. If we make a change in floor plan we turn on layer for electric ect and are change would be a lot faster

Did not explain myself I do not have a problem running chief I have a problem when I imported a complete auto cad file and tried to modify

so everything is in  cad /  lines ect  and it is impossible to dimension  not sure why

she hired archtect to copy the plan and bring it up to code

no revising a plan it is a horse stable my client had built 10 years ago and now she is reproducing archtect wanted two to three weeks trying to get it done quickly
