  1. this is good... but I'm still having some difficulty with a couple things... on the inside, there are elements of exterior siding... and the exterior siding will not take color changes....
  2. Hi All, Back at it... using the polyline hole-in-roof method I was taught a while back by one of you fine folks. This time the shed dormer is not the whole width of the house and so I don't get an enclosed finished dormer. (see attached file) Please advise. Warm Regards, Stu Brugman Project.plan
  3. Joey - I gathered myself, took your instruction, and low an behold, it worked like a charm! Thank you so much.
  4. Problem is that this removes the foundation from the elevation view.
  5. sorry - i selected the plan when posting but did not upload... brain fried on this one.
  6. To clarify: I need all the floors to be the same slab so that, among other things, the elevations are the same...(no stair-stepping on the stem wall). And I need the framing band that is now across the bottom of the garage to be gone... Guidance to this end would be huge! thank you.
  7. Hi All, I have made so many little adjustments to try to figure this out that I've lost count. This project is all slab on grade... but code requires a 4' frost wall... in the process of fiddling with floors, I have now created a band of framing below what was my regular floor, And i have some rooms that are higher foundations than others when all the rooms are the same slab with the hall and back office that will be raised by framing a subfloor over the slab. I'm stymied and I am late on revision submission. any help with this mess is appreciated. Sincerely, Still Learning Weiss Project.plan
  8. Does anyone have or know of Gable Pediments that come as library objects vs. manually created objects using polyline tools?
  9. Wow Dave... that got it done! Thx for helping out the newb! I missed a thing or two the first time through and ended up with no walls... but I realized that I'd not placed the polyline where you had. backed up... adjusted... viola! You rock!
  10. I need more info... I'm not sure how to deal with this without losing the edge of the 7/12 pitched roof in the process.
  11. Hello All - I am trying to reproduce a shed roof on the rear of the home on my current project and cannot figure out how to do it in CA. If I use Floating Auto Dormer, I can create it but it doesn't allow me to resize to place the walls over the exterior walls. I have attached the plan and also a picture of the roof section I'm trying to recreate. Please advise. Thank You Biskobing Project - Cape Cod (Extended Porch).plan
  12. Hi All, I just imported a plan provided by a builder I'm working with. Is there a trick to matching scale? See embedded image: As you can see, The PDF imported is exactly 1/2 the scale that Chief selected. How do I make this kind of adjustment? Kind Regards, SAA
  13. Thank you! Though the path was different for me, it got me in the right place to get Part 1 taken care of.
  14. All, I found out inadvertently how to change the backdrop image so now I have 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' movie poster when looking out my windows! ugh. Part 1: How do I get my standard backdrop back? Part 2: How do I load images into my program so i can change the image on a wall hanging from 'Starry Night' to my image of choice? Thanks tons! SAA
  15. OK... show off let me restate... I tried to place the cabinet depth fridge into a cabinet and it just sat in front of the cabinet... are you saying Configure the cabinet with an opening and then insert? I'll look at that while I await your approach.
  16. I'm using a filler: But it doesn't provide a panel behind the filler... I shot the Ray Trace straight on, so you can't see that detail. The Fridge model I have to use is a cabinet depth, not a built in. So I can't implement what you suggested above. Stu
  17. Thank you! The Screen Print got me what I needed... those tweaks brought it all together. As an aside... did you notice the opening to the left of the fridge? Cant seem to find a solid filler that works... any thoughts?
  18. UPDATE: I didn't realize the puck light would attach to the under cabinet. i got light just fine after i let the program do it's thing... however... I still do not see the last two settings.
  19. Found the puck light! Thank you. The last two settings you mention are not something I can find... I'm on X7... where do I find Custom Light level and auto intensity check box? also... I've placed the lights below cabinet and there is no light source showing.. but when I move it out to float in front of cab, there is light... ???
  20. Hi All, Anyone able to assist on how I approach recreating under-cabinet lighting. also... can anyone explain why I have a light source where my soffit meets the ceiling? Plan Attached. SA 705 Kitchen Walls - DEMO.plan
  21. File is too big to upload... Perhaps the problem is that I didn't treat the exterior porch as a room..?? I just placed a slab and extended the roof out to meet the edge.
  22. All - As a professed newbie, I have an issue that I'm sure is a simple fix, i just don't know how to do it. I have this porch that I'm trying to reproduce in CA X7: And I cant figure out for the life of me how to close the front of the gable and have a ceiling above the porch. Any help? SA
  23. Hello All, I posted this in Chat... but Member "Solver" told me to repost here. Here is the latest on this first Pro Project. I'm not sure what tools to use to do this next part of the project. I tried Ceiling Planes, but I'm not sure how to adjust height in this scenario. If you look at the cross section image from the original plans (not my CA plans) provided by the builder for the expansion project I'm rendering, you'll see that part of the ceiling is using the roof-line for it's vault, I don't know how to create the other section of the vault that has the attic space as seen here: If anyone can point me in the right direction for this vault scenario, and the ridge beam reveal, that would be very appreciated. Kind Regards SA
