  1. Your photo gallery looks great!  I am having the worst time getting my ray traces to look realistic.  The walls are always speckled.  I know it's my materials settings.  Any suggestions on some basic standard settings I should use?  Thanks!

Thanks, Stager! I believe that the album you're referring to is all PBR. It took me about 6 mos to 'get the hang' of the differences in RT & PBR.

As Mick mentioned, we really need to see what version of Chief you are running, and on what equipment to give you solid answers that will work for you immediately.

I know for sure that RT works off the main CPU chipset. I dunno if PBR is the CPU or the graphics card. I have an i7 laptop but it does not produce the quality of RT's that my desktop does. My desktop was the best that I could buy 3 years ago. I got the laptop in 2017.  This week I had to change the hard drive in the desktop to a solid state because I was noticing a huge slowdown as compared to January when I installed X10. Today will be my first real test of it.

What I am trying to say is that increasing the number of times the RT cycles should improve the 'graininess' (if this describes the speckles). Also, limit the number of lights in the scene. X9 and before having a limit of 8 light sources.

By the way: I don't know what a 'bump map' is either. I've looked in help - but still don't know where to source them.

Are you a stager for Realtors? Where are you?

Looking forward to learning more and giving better advice, ~Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl. Yes I'm a stager and also interior designer in Portland Maine.

I am about to be brought into a huge project and need to get more proficient with this. I will be asked to draw up plans for dozens of new condo units and will need to use the 360 degree panoramic as well.  I have to get up to speed.

I have CA Premier 10. I use a desktop. Processor info: i7-4790K CPU  4.00GHz. I will send a rendering in the morning to show you what I am getting for results.

      Thanks!
