  1. Thanks guys. NRST8TRKR, the reason I'm concerned about the stress on the walls is that there will be a retaining wall at the left and right sides of the walkout so the grade won't drop as much as typical, thus having a bit more pressure from the backfill.
  2. This is for a walkout basement. Is it bad practice to have just 3 walls of foundation and thus frame the wall the walkout is on? I'm wondering if this would be a lot of torque at the opposite corners (red circles) from the gravel backfill pushing in on the foundation walls (red arrows)? (Note: there is a concrete frost wall below the wood framing on the walkout side) See attached picture.
