There is a wall, see images. Or are you saying that Chief doesn't consider the space between the floors to be a part of a wall or something to attach the trim too?

Why does the trim not reach the top of the stairwell unless there is a wall all the way to the stairs' edge? I have previously forced it when the stairs end in a room by adding an invisible wall under the stairs’ edge, but I cannot do that in all situations. Under these stairs is a hallway; I can't have a random wall within a hall or show an invisible wall on the plans. Is there a setting that I have missed that would fix this?

I have been working in Chief for about 3 months. When I am working with the exterior walls - specifically changing the wall types - I am continually having to adjust them to keep the interior measurement I need. As you can see in the added images, when I change the wall type, it shifts the wall by 1.5625 inches into the room. 1. Why does the change in wall type change the location of the wall and change the interior dimension? 2. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
