  1. Thanks for the ideas. I tried 35 degrees for the smoothing angle on the phong, but it seems to hardly make a difference. Good to know that the starting point may be the issue with the low poly pieces. I really hardly know anything about architect. I just want to get the models to c4d to move cameras through them. What do you mean by symbol? Is that chief's name for model? Thanks for your help.
  2. I am trying to pull files from chief architect to cinema 4d. I can do it fine with a dxf, 3ds, stl, and dae. I have the most luck with textures and elements coming in as separate objects when I import the 3ds file directly into c4d. My issue is that doorknobs and many other objects, like light fixtures, and really any objects with a curve, are jagged (screenshot attached). A doorknob, for instance, only has about 14 vertices or faces on the actual handle circle. My questions is how can I get these smoother? Or are the chief models not any smoother than that? Is it in the export from Chief, the chief project settings, the import into c4d, or is it even doable? I assume that chief models have higher resolution because the ray trace makes these objects look better, so how can I get smoother objects? Thanks for any help. Using Chief 6 and C4D R16. OSX Yosemite.
