  1. Hi Chiefs,

I have attached the plan file I am working on. It seems that in the window schedule it is showing information for bay windows on the first and second floors. I went into the schedule properties and unchecked Bay windows from the items to include list. I also opened up the bay window object spec box and told them not to be included in the schedule but they still show up. Only when I delete them do they go away. Does anyone know what my problem could be linked to here?

    Thank you very much!

  2. Glenn, it looks like if I just check the generate on lower platform it fixes my problem.

Thankfully this is just my site model, when I added the new level it changed the reference level for alot of my geometry and the foundation rooms. I will be careful in the future to create my terrain on level 1, although it seems counter intuitive to me, shouldnt the landscape and the grade be associated with the foundation? Its just the way I think about it I suppose.

Anyway thanks for the help, glad we got to the bottom of it!

  3. Hi Chiefs,

I have this fence in my plan and it is doing this awful thing where it is extending the balusters way up above the top rail. I have it set to "follow terrain". When I set it to stepped terrain it acts even weirder, elevating all the balusters about 5' above the post & rail. Does anyone know what is making this happen and what kind of settings I need to adjust to make it look normal?

Tried looking online but there does not seem to be that much on fences. Thanks!

  4. Hi Chiefs,

I am trying to show my door headers in this view but I cant figure out how.

I have the door header layer on in this view.

In the framing section for both door I have unchecked the defaults so that the header field is adjustable but still nothing, is there anything else I might be doing wrong?

    Thank you!

Alex,  if I'm understanding you correctly, I think you might be going about that in the wrong way.  If this is what you're talking about...

Then I would suggest you try to use actual window setting and mulled units...

Otherwise you'll be stuck doing tons of potentially unnecessary CAD work to create the muntins, more CAD work to create the opening label, and if you make any changes to the window??  You guessed it...do it all over again.  Sometimes the CAD work may be necessary, but this may not be one of those times...I guess only you know that answer to that dilemma.

Thanks for responding Alaska! May I call you Alaska?

I know I tried that already and got pretty close. Plan 2  shows my mulled units and Plan 3 has my custom muntins.

The problem with the mulled units is that I could not get them close enough to mull them together and then get the right dimension I needed for the schedule, it is always 1/16 off it seems, and when you zoom into the seam where the window units intersect you can see some sort of mutant geometry created between. Is there a trick to getting them close enough when you mull so that it gives an accurate value in the schedule?

  6. Wow, that is incredible! You could get very creative with that tool! Im glad I asked, especially since another project I have right now is going to call for a lot of custom window work.

If you have custom muntins in a window and then make a mulled window with another window do the muntins come with it??

And thanks Mr. Page, you have been giving me some good guidance lately and I want you to know I appreciate it!
