  1. I just purchased my 2nd MacBook Pro 15,.. the first one purchased just a year ago this month. What I didn't know a year back is that the memory is permanent to the motherboard and cannot be easily upgraded. BUMMER !!! So I bit the bullet and got a new Mac 15" with 16GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB and 512GB storage. So far, everything seems to run better and faster with the bigger RAM, especially CA. So my advice... go with a MacBook Pro but with the bigger RAM from the start.
  2. It might help if I would have attached the pic of the elevation. -Michael T.
  3. So folks... in my VERY first bath plan with Chief Architect, and after viewing a number of the training videos, I still continue to struggle with the mirrors. So,... I've drawn the plan, opened up an elevation, and using the polyline solid, drew a square to represent the mirror above a vanity. The clicked on the polyline specification dialogue box, and went to materials,...then to the Library Material and selected "mirror." The polyline solid turns into a dark gray square. When I open a camera to view in 3-D, it is just a dark grey square. ( see attached. ) So what am I doing wrong? -Michael T
  4. Ok... Just a real CA newby here. I've looked but cannot find so maybe some helpful soul will be so kind. So when drawing an interior or exterior wall, the temporary dimension shows in feet and inches. I would like it to show just inches. How do I do that?
  5. Wow. Thanks for all the feedback, folks. Very Helpful. It would seem the price of ChiefArchitect is worth more with the added bonus of the friendly feedback from user groups. A design colleague is a big advocate of ArchiCAD but the UI seems a bit awkward when compared to CA.
  6. As an interior designer and contemplating using Chief Architect, I need to draw as-built drawings for my interiors projects - from the inside of the building, rather than around the outside ( as is seen in the your introduction video.) Maybe just be able to create a 2-d and 3-d drawing of a couple of spaces - or an entire residence - using the measures I take of the interior walls, cabinets, doors, architectural features, etc. ( as opposed to measuring the exterior and then drawing in the interior partitions, etc. Is there an easy, uncomplicated way to to that ? I looked around for a video and in the knowledge base but did not see anything. Did I miss something?
