Often times I have retaining walls that must run perpendicular to terrain elevation lines. Let's say for instance, I have a driveway sloping uphill with a 4' tall retaining wall along the side of it. The terrain above the retaining wall is also sloping up at the same rate as the driveway. I am working with elevation lines imported from a CAD file provided by my civil engineer. Chief processes the elevation lines pretty well in most instances. I have no problems dealing with retaining walls that run the same direction as my grade lines. I have read all the forum tips and tricks I can find about retaining walls. I use terrain breaks and normal walls rather than actual retaining walls. I set terrain break transition distances to zero. I set my terrain breaks within my walls. I don't run my grade lines across terrain breaks or cross any grade data. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get a smooth finish where my terrain meets the wall (especially on the higher side). I turn my grade lines just before the terrain break and run them uphill towards the next elevation line but not all the way to it, which seems to help some but not enough. I don't think elevation regions would work for this. If anyone knows how to get smooth terrain in this type of situation, please tell me your secret! Working in X15
