  1. Could someone please help me get these 2 small gable areas in this roof? I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I would greatly appreciate any help or pointers. Thanks. i am using version 6. Final House.plan
  2. Should my terrain look like this? The elevations ar correct and the boundary was made to lot lines but how do I make it not have the thick grass on the front? terrain.bmp
  3. Not being able to save as earlier versions is probably the biggest drawback to this software. Is there any kind of work around for this?
  4. It was a layer display issue. Had to make the roof planes not visible. Duhhh! Anyone have any ideas on the stairs? I'm lost.
  5. I have tried everything and still can't seem to get the stairs to connect to the 2nd floor room above the garage. On a side note, what do I have to do to get a 3d view of the 2nd floor without the roof? I have tried all different kinds of 3d views and can get the first floor but not the second.
  6. I added another floor and put a bonus room above the garage.
  7. There is a floor above the garage. It should be there. I will check the file again and make sure.
  8. Can someone please take a look and see what I need to do to get the stairs up to the bonus room above the garage? I can't seem to get them to lock into the right area at the top and the railing and width seem to change as it goes up. I am a fairly new user using X5. I think I finally have just about everything the way I want it with the help of some you guys. I have tried the best fit stair option but it seems to give me wierd results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. House plan 424-60_stair help.plan
  9. Thanks again. Things seem to be working really well now.
  10. Thanks so much. I agree that something is probably wrong with the plan. I think I messed something up trying to do it myself. For some reason I'm missing a wall on the side of the middle gable. I may try to just start over and see if I can use what you fixed as a guide. I'm still new to this program so I have probably screwed up something.
  11. Mainly for the misses to look at brick colors with shingles and what not. The part I can't figure out is the area around the front door is higher than the other two gables. I can't seem to get it to close up right around those areas.
  12. I do appreciate people helping me. I think I stated that with the first guy that actually looked at the problem and tried to help. The auto build roof command doesn't produce what I need. The other guys are the ones that got smart. I am not an architect or builder and have no intention of doing anything illegal with the plan. I just want to have a good visual of the house I plan to build so I can look at how I want to do things to it.
  13. Are you kidding me? Beach of copyright? The plan is posted on the internet. I am not recreating the plan to build from or resale. If you don't want to help that's fine. Move on and quit reading the post. As for Bfogarty, the user above deleted the roof plans I had created and used the auto build tool. I don't need help with auto build since its pretty simple to use. Is there anyone that can actually solve a problem with this software other than grammar police and lawyers?
  14. Well, my builder is soon to be purchasing the plans but I would like to draw it up so I can look at furniture placement and such to see if I would like to change anything.
  15. If you can fix it in version 6 I will take it.
  16. That wasn't what I needed. That looked to me like the autoroof tool. That doesn't do what I need. Anyone else have any ideas?
  17. Thanks for your help but I can't open it. Says it was created with a newer version than mine?
  18. I'm a new user and sure could use some help fixing the roof on the attached file aournd the front of the house. I have a pic in the file itself but the house plan can be found below. I am using Chief Architect Premier 5. I feel like I am close to having it correct but I think it is an issue with attic walls. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also how you fixed it! http://www.houseplans.com/plan/1997-square-feet-3-bedrooms-2-bathroom-french-country-plans-2-garage-32279 House plan 424-60.plan
