Left click on the gable wall and turn off the gable radio button, then draw the shed roof manually.

You can go to 2015 IRC code book and it will tell you there. Unless this is something very unusual, the building official doesn't like to be bothered with questions that are in the code books.

Hello M, Chief does okay with simple auto roofs , but it looks like the roof on the plan you're working on needs a little adjusting using the manual roof tools. It's not that hard. Do some practicing with manual roofs and you'll be a good shape in no time. Also, you can go to ChiefExperts Pro Academy where the is extensive training online.

Good idea JBHamner, I'm in the same boat as you. I want to upgrade my system but money is tight. I have the minimum as described by CA but it's not doing the job with the full camera views and rendering. X10 needs a lot more graphics horse power than the minimum.

Power Spec G460 should do the trick. $1,999 sold at Micro Center. 6 Cores 16 gig memory 11 GB video card
-
You should also check out a company called Digital Storm out of California. They custom build machines with some serious horse power.

Thanks Kbird I'll do that.

Thanks for the info.

Same here, It's frustrating.

Yes me too. Will just have to hang in there. Upgrading hardware won't be easy or inexpensive.

Hi JBHamner, I just saw your post. It appears as though X10 needs more graphics card horse power and that's a bummer because I don't have the money to blow on a new card or computer. I wish Chief would take into consideration the cost of these things. X9 was working great not problems now I'm in a bind because I'm in the middle of a project that requires lots of renderings.

Thanks guys, Vinnie is my name, I've been a Chief user since 1999. I'll post a 3D view of what I'm taking about soon. This all started with X10, X9 worked great.

Hello, I downloaded X10 and when I performed a camera view (standard view) the image was horrible. It's happening on another PC I have. Any clues?
-
Thanks Michael I'll give it try.

Hi Chopsaw thanks for your reply, I'll give this a try and let you know how it comes out.

Your problem is that you're using a railing wall. I would probably do one of 2 things...
1. As someone else mentioned above, use normal walls and simply select the walls in elevation and drag them down.
2. Use a pony wall with a shorter normal wall on the bottom and a zero thickness wall on top using "Opening (no material)"
Thanks Glen it worked.

There seems to be quite a few strange things that are going on after upgrading to X10.
