  1. I did do some of the troubleshooting on the article that DBCooper linked. It seems like maybe something I did helped a bit, but there is still definitely lag. Maybe I need to be more aware of how many cameras I have open at once and make sure I close out of the ones I'm not using. It seems like before I would have a hundred things open at once and had no issue. Do any of you run into issues when you import 3D models from manufacturer's websites, such as Subzero? It seems like that could be the issue. Some of them have a lot more "faces" than the basic Chief appliances from the library.
  2. Yes, that is the GPU I have -RTX4060. It happens on all the plans that are "bigger". More rooms, more objects, etc. Thank you, appreciate your thoughts!
  3. Thanks for the replies! No, it doesn't have to be a laptop, but a laptop is much more convenient. This is what I have now: ROG Strix G713PV AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX with Radeon Graphics (2.50 GHz) 32 GB RAM I typically see lag when I have a 3D view open (or more than one open) and then am making edits on objects. Sometimes the program will freeze up and I'll have to close it. I don't have a budget decided yet.... just need something that works without the lag. So I guess whatever it takes to be able to keep working efficiently.
  4. Hello, I am experiencing a lot of lag/program freezing up when working on plans that include several rooms (with detailed cabinetry, windows, doors, mouldings, appliances, etc.) The roof, framing, and foundations are all default settings though, as we mostly do designs showing only the area being remodeled, and don't typcially do a whole house plan. I'm thinking maybe I need to upgrade my laptop. The one I am using is well above the minimum requirements listed on the Chief website. Does anyone have a laptop they are using that works with no lag? If so, would you care to share the specs? Thank you
  5. Thanks for the replies! I will be trying out these methods to see what works for us.
  6. Is there an easy way to have cabinets that are against each other show a 3/4" face frame on each cabinet that would create a total of 1 1/2" face frame between cabinets instead of 3" between cabinets? But still have 1 1/2" face frame on the outside of cabinets that are on the end of a run? And also keep 1 1/2" face frame on the top and bottom rails. For example on this attached pic, I would like 1 1/2" face frame on the left side of the cabinet next to the wall, but then a total of 1 1/2" face frame between the 2 doors instead of 3 inches. Does it have to be done by adjusting each cabinet individually?
  7. Anyone have any ideas on how to make cabinets in Chief similar to the attached pics?
  8. Hi, Is there a way to show a bead on the face frame of framed inset cabinets?
  9. Thanks! I think I will try just using a cabinet and not using the appliance, just notating it. I appreciate the response!
  10. Thanks! I may try this idea of using a cabinet instead. I appreciate the response, we are still relatively new users of the program.
  11. Hello, Has anyone figured out a good way to show panel ready refrigerator/dishwashers/etc.? I have just been placing a door panel in front of the appliance in the correct position, but wondering if I am missing something and there is a better way.
  12. Thank you!! I'll definitely check out the video and hopefully get it figured out.
  13. Appreciate the help. I'm still not sure how to "edit" the garage separately from the rest of the house. I want to have living space above the first floor of the garage, but the roof starting at the top of the first floor. On the house, I want to have the roof starting at the top of the 2nd floor.
  14. Hi, We are trying to show a garage that the roof that "ignores the top floor" to create a living space in the attic area. So I have this how I want it. But how can I have the rest of the house have a normal 2nd floor that the roof starts at the top of the 2nd floor? It keeps changing both to show the same way. I am new to the program so I'm sure there is a way to show it, but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. I would also like to show a corridor going from the house 2nd floor to the living space in the attic area of the garage? How do I draw that?
  15. Thank you so much! I will see if I can figure this out when I get back to this design. I'll probably have so many questions. -Kelly
  16. Hi, anyone have a suggestion on how to shape cabinets to go under steps such as the ones in the pic attached?
