A new garden design for a McGill University student project. The goal was to reinforce the edge of the property facing the waterfront with water-loving and colourful native perennial plants. Next, I added Quebec native trees to the area, such as White pine ( Pinus strobus) and Red maple( Acer rubrum), to add shade and canopy. The final touch was the path of mulch and a stone patio to be a common area for parties and social events. Planted each bed with native perennials that flower at different times during the season for constant colour. Trees such as the Japanese maple and Magnolias added some colour to the paths but were mainly planted for shade and canopy
