  1. Ok, thanks. Am I alone in thinking that this should update at each save?
  2. Does anyone know how to update the file preview that shows when you browse to open a file? Mine is not updating automatically. Jacob
  3. Sorry, yes, that's what I meant, current point. I think I figured it out. Transform/Replicate. Select "current point" Enter the angle, or pitch. What I'm noticing is that it depends on which line you have selected in the polyline, which I can't figure out the logic behind, so it may require some trial and error until I get used to it. Drafting in Chief is an alien experience after 20 years of Autocad!
  4. Does anyone know if there's a way to rotate an object about a point and align relative to another object, or to an absolute angle. I tried Transform/Replicate, but it seems that Transform/Replicate ignores the selected point. Perhaps there's another way? It's not a huge deal, but would be nice and seems like there should be a way to do this. If not, at least I've learned how Transform/Replicate will allow me to rotate to an absolute angle. Jacob
  5. Excellent! thank you very much. I also appreciate the bonus tips SNestor! I'll get the baseline dimension fixed so my rafter seat is correct.
  6. Here's the file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfyuyp3znwdcd14/Mark %26 Sophie Basement New2.4.plan?dl=0 thanks in advance Jacob
  7. Anyone ever seen this before? It's happened a few times in this model. I can't pin it down to any action that I've taken. Seems to come back after a while, but then gone again. I mean, I like the look of a project under construction, but this is really odd.
  8. Thank you. Not sure how I missed that. So many options!
  9. Hello All, Can someone help me figure out how to mark a window as "egress" in the window schedule? I see the column in the schedule, but I can't seem to figure out how to mark it as such so that it shows up in the schedule. Image attached. thanks, Jacob
  10. Got it! that did it. It looks like all I had to do was check the boxes next to "elevation" under "Setup Automatic" for that dimension default. This stuff is not so intuitive, but I think I'm getting it! I appreciate your help. Jacob
  11. Thanks for your replies! I'm not at my computer until later, but yes, I click and get nothing.
  12. Hey Chief Community! I've recently made the switch from 20 years of using Autocad and Revit. For the most part, I'm really enjoying Chief Architect. I find that I am able to generate presentable content much quicker. However, developing those documents throughout the process is chocked full of challenges. So far, so good, I'm just keeping after it. I've set up my shortcuts, to mostly coordinate with what I'm used to in Autocad and Revit, and that's helping a lot. As I encounter challenges, I'll search the help files, forums and youtube videos, but at that point if I can't find solutions, I'd like to post them on here, to hopefully get past the barriers. I'm still trying to understand how the layer states and default sets work, but perhaps if I purchase some quality templates it may help. I'd very much appreciate your opinions on this. One, somewhat small issue that I've come up against is the auto dimensions on the interior elevations aren't working. Does anyone know why that might be? Thank you all and I look forward to how I can also give back to this community as my skill level develops. Jacob Chavez J-Chavez Design Build www.jchavezdesign.com
