i have the 4090 and the 7800 XTX and the differences are pretty small when it comes to chief. see if you can find the XTX.
Also, @Rich_Winsor was right. You may need other upgrades...power supply is def one of the upgrades required to run these cards

Thanks so much. I actually upgraded my motherboard and power supply last year so I'm good to go. I do a lot of rendering in Twin Motion so I wouldn't mind having the best gpu I guess I'll have to wait....

@DarlingInc I would be very cautious about upgrading just

the GPU on a 9 year old computer. These new video cards

are physically enormous and require oodles of power. There

is a good chance the card will not fit in your motherboard and

case and your power supply probably can't supply the cables

    needed to power it.

By the time you upgrade your case, motherboard, power supply

and video card you're probably better off shopping for a new rig.

As for what level of performance to choose for the components

I prefer to settle in one version below whatever is the latest and

greatest release. Usually available, cheaper, and more reliable

without much of a drop off in performance.

Really appreciate the info. I did upgrade my motherboard about year ago. Definitely going to weigh my options now that I know all the details.

  3. Its now 2024 and I'm having this issue for the first time. Windows 10 pro, 64. Working off the hard drive not the cloud. Any solutions found yet?

  4. Keep getting this when I do camera views and cross section views. Has anyone found a fix for this? I'm working with the latest Nvidia drivers. Working of the hard drive, not the cloud.
