  1. What you're showing is close but I'd like to have the gable portions project slightly beyond the face of the garage and the bay not flush as shown. What is the best way to do that?
  2. I am trying to figure out how to build a gable end wall condition that overhangs an entry porch area and also a gable wall condition on the elevation that projects slighting beyond the face of a garage wall below. Attached is a sketch of the roof on trace with the floor plan below. I also have a sketch of the front elevation for reference. I'm still new to the Chief Architect program so I would appreciate any assistance on this. Thank you. KENDAL OPT 3 ROOF.pdf KENDAL OPT 3 ELEVATION.pdf
  3. Importing the views from another project solved the problem. Thanks.
  4. Did as you suggested but when I closed it still just listed "None"
  5. Could you please expand on this? Open a new plan and import the existing document into the new or ??
  6. I received a model of an existing house project but when I opened it there were not "views" - Working Plan View, Floor Plan View Dimensioned, Framing Ceiling Plan View, etc. Is there a way to open the existing Plan.file and access those? I will be making modifications, coming up with exterior elevation options and they would be helpful.
  7. I'm new to Chief. I'm trying to create an arched brick soldier course over a garage door and over some windows. I read the suggestion listed when I did a search in Chief but the program didn't behave as noted. The bricks extended beyond the p-line I drew. I'd I'd also like to have a solid brick material that would work with the brown mixed used brick that comes with the program at least to start with until I get better at mapping finishes.
  8. Thx. I am doing an as-built of my home using the original blueprints to get comfortable with this software. The house is all brick and there are a few bays that have walls at 45 degrees and the X and Y dimensions are known but I'm not sure what dimensions tool I can use to get the angled wall length to work out. Thoughts?
  9. I'm a new user so I apologize in advance. Can the exterior dimensions be setup so if I have a brick exterior house the auto dimensions will dimension to the brick and not the framing so I can keep modular dimensions related to brick sizes? Also if I know I want the dimension for the X and Y axis to be 4'-4" how do I draw the wall to get that? I started layout out the house with the general shape as suggested and then wanted to shift walls using the dimensions but the angled walls became a problem for me.
