  1. Does anyone know if Chief Architect is able to actually perform structural calculations and point loads on the foundations and framing it generates? If not, do you think it can be done using Ruby programming to generate those calculations through an add-on to the software? Or does that have to be in another calculation software like StruCalc or Forte? I have a programmer willing to make a utility for me, but I was just curious if anyone had attempted actual calculations in Chief Architect.
  2. So I know Chief Architect is used primarily for residential and very limited light commercial, and that's great, but I'm starting to bring in larger commercial projects and I'm hoping someone has a comparable software recommendation for commercial projects. Not very familiar with Revit, but I suppose I could learn it. Would like something I could do a full design and engineering package in one application. What does everyone else use for their larger, more complicated projects?
  3. Perry, I didn't know that function was there. Is that a new feature? I don't remember seeing that in previous versions. Or maybe I just didn't delve deep enough into the preferences. Let me try that and I'll let you know if it helps me.
  4. Does anyone know of a way to print in grey, like a screened hatch like in AutoCAD? I get we can change lineweights, but unless I'm printing color, which I don't want to do, I can only do black. There's gotta be a way to make the monochrome print greys too, right? Am I just missing something?
