  1. Attached are two plans. One with the temporary dimensions settings how I want them and one where they are not right.

I would like it so when I click on an exterior wall it shows me the outside of wood stud to outside of wood stud dimension and when I click on interior walls it shows me the gypsum to gypsum dimension.

I when to default settings and played around with those but I either get the exterior dimensions to be like I want but not the interior or vice versa.

I don't want to revert back to the correct temporary dimension plan because I have updated the one where the temporary dimensions are not correct to be the template I want to use.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. Attached is my plan. I am having some issue with siding/drywall/etc on some walls so I am thinking I may not have set this house up the right way.

11' tall walls on 1st floor.

8' tall walls on 2nd floor for the middle section

on two sides using space under rafters so 0' wall height at exterior wall and increasing in height as you moved toward the center

    Thanks for the help.

  3. Attached is my plan.

I am using the lower wall type if split by butting roof but my wall either shows all siding or all drywall.

How do I get the exposed upper part to be siding and the lower part of the wall to be drywall?

    Thanks for the help.

  4. I am not sure how to get it to change to a strip footing so I just uncheck the option to create wall/footing below and draw two lines and chang them to dashed so they match the footing lines.

Not quite what you are looking for but it will work.

I am interested to see if there is a way to have chief do this automatically.

  5. I am trying to design a house that will have 12' tall studs and the floor joists will be installed so the bottom of the floor joist is at the 8' height. The stud wall will extend up 3' above the floor joist to provide a knee wall for the 2nd story loft.

How do I create this look in chief architect?

Attached is a section of the house showing what I am trying to do.
