Hello,
I have problem to use "lower wall type".
This "lower wall type" unchecked. As circled in red, partial of wall under roof is still exterior wall.
When check "lower wall type" for that wall, the wall portion under the roof is fixed but the half of windows disappear.
How to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Josh

Designing a kitchen peninsula. Owner wants to have cabinets like ones shown in the photo.
If there is no way to configure, I may try to use two cabinets back to back to model them.

Try in Wall specifications Roof > "Lower Wall Type if Split by Butting Roof". If not post your plan file for professional help.
Hello Chopsaw,
Thank you so much to point this option out.
I didn't know what the option "split by butting roof" for. Now I understand.
Appreciate your help.

Thank you all.
The problem is resolved by making change the size of rafter.

It sounds like the fascia height of the main roof @ 5:12, after it's pulled back to the exterior wall and the ridge height of the porch roof (locked at 2.5:12) would be the same height. Those heights can be set in each roof's dbx.
Or if you want the ridge of the porch to join the fascia of the main roof, just set those two heights the same, locking each pitch as you do so. Oh and you can draw the porch roof anywhere you want, just set the correct heights. EDIT: Set the porch ridge height 1/2" lower than the main roof's fascia height, probably good reason for this but play around with those dbx's and you'll learn a bunch about Chief's roofs.
Hi HumbleChief,
Thank you so much.
I made it! but it leads to my next question.
What setting would remove the gap as depicted with red line?

Hello,
Normally, a roof plan is drawn from baseline, usually the top plate height, to ridge.
Is there a way to draw from ridge and to find the baseline height?
Actually I'm trying to draw roof plans for this house.
The roof slope for main house is 4:12. The porch has 2.5:12 slope. Both roof plans meet at exterior wall.
I use exterior wall height as the baseline to draw the roof plan for the main house, and then don't know how to draw a roof plan for porch so that the both roof plans meets on top of exterior wall and have same height.
Your advice is very appreciated.

That's the space between the top of your roof plane and the ceiling defined for your roof plane. If you were to frame that roof and turn the rafter framing layer on then you would see rafters in there.
Thanks for your reply.
How can I fix it?

Thank you Ben.
The problem is gone if I switch to the integrated PDF.
I was not aware the integrated PDF. Instead, a default PDF printer was used.

specify sea elevation to sub floor
in General Q & A
Posted
Hello there,
Topo map provided by surveyor have sea elevation data for sample points in a lot and elevation for sub floor.
I can used those elevation data to create a terrain but don't know how to give the topo elevation to sub floor.
Terrain is not flat, specify "sub floor height above terrain" in "terrain specification" may not work.
Thanks,
Josh
