Hi everyone: I am having an issue with a split level. I am using Chief X11. The plan i posted does not have foundations since when i add those things get really weird and I think I need to sort out the issue with the levels first or the foundation will never build right. I have a room that is going to be garage however no matter how i define it the door from that room into the main house is above the level of the ceiling. see attached photo. I have also attached the plan. The exterior walls are a sip wall customized according to the manufactures specifications with a layer for the furred interior walls. The total thickness on those walls is 10 5/8" The interior wall is a customized interior wall that is load bearing for use in certain areas of the design. 6242019 RFH (Shell2).plan

yes i have tried auto building it and that does not quite work so I have been thinking I should do manual and have tried that on few other iterations but I just think I am not skilled enough to pull it off without either reading something or watching some more tutorials. What you sent looks right, May I ask what settings you used?

OK, this is crude but hopefully it shows what i am trying to accomplish. I have not built the foundation yet but the idea is three interlocking squares on a diagonal with a rise in between each "square level" of the house. I am certain I am out of my depth with this design but i really do not know of any other way to learn . exp squaresa.plan

Yes, I want to use a shed style roof on a split level story and half structure. They never seem to intersect in the right way and I am certain it is because i do not understand the fundamental ways that Chief is constructing them. I end up with walls that do not form over roofs etc.

Hi everyone; I am looking for some advice from the community regarding a thorough tutorial on custom roofs. I have gone through all the video tutorial on Chiefs website and I am still not getting this right. Any advice appreciated. I am using Chief Architect X10. Thanks Best a

Evolution: I think your reply will make sense for the design portion, I want to also insure my plans and drawing are correct and give good instructions for the actual construction. Although frankly as someone who has been in construction I know the hardest part will be getting people to follow them. It is one of the reasons I got out of the the field LOL Best a

I think you answered the question very thoroughly, I suppose it is more of a design question than a Chief question. My goal is to make sure this is detailed properly for material lists , final blueprints and building instructions. So i posted it here, should I have posted it elsewhere? Thanks Much Best a

Hello: I have created a glassed in "porch" area and I would like to put an interior garden in it, almost like a small zen garden. The house has a monolithic slab foundation and I am unsure how to go about this since i do not want a room filled with potted plants, I want the ability to create a miniature landscape while still having it be conditioned and inside the enclosed "porch" area. I think the answer is probably going to be incredibly obvious and I will feel like an idiot when someone else provides it but regardless, any and all suggestions welcome. Here is what i think needs to be done: Ensure there is fall on the floor to strategically placed floor drains. Waterproof the sills Fill the area with gravel to ensure proper drainage to the floor drains Create the interior landscape/garden As above any and all suggestions welcome. Floating Shelves with Hangers not Brackets

I was unable to load the pipeshelf but i was able to import the .skp file. I will be updating fairly soon. and at that point the other file will work. Because of the clients need (He is my husband) I have been doing a lot of custom work for example this morning I am working on a symbol for a GrainFather brewing system...... Nothing fancy just a place holder in the design. Thank you I appreciate the help. best a -

Thank you, Solver, I can do that. It will also provide he flexibility of changing materials if needed for the final design. Much appreciated. I hope you have great day in Arizona! -

Solver, No I could not find picture of exactly what i wanted but i thought if i could get there then i could figure out how to get closer to what i wanted. I would like to do this is a couple of places in my design. In in the bathroom for instance it would be closer to what i posted. If you would be so kind as to explain how you did the above the drawing i would appreciate it. I am a novice at much of this..... Thanks -
Floating Shelves with Hangers not Brackets

Both good ideas let me see what I can do. In the perfect world what i would like is tempered glass shelves that hang from four rods attached to the ceiling of the kitchen. That is probably nutty.... -
Hi, I am trying to design shelves to hang in front of windows in a kitchen. I tried using the shelf tool which lets me create a glass floating shelf with brackets but that is not the look I am after. See attached picture. I am using Chief Architect Premier X10 Any help much appreciated.
