  1. I'm using X15 and have a completed drawing set that I'm sending to my draftsman and engineer. He is able to get the .dwg files and use them in CAD (they have 3 different versions). When he sends the file to his layout in CAD, lines get heavy, measurements are covered up and all kinds of problems emerge. Has anyone had these types of issues converting CA files to CAD for printing and any solutions? Thanks, Burke
  2. Thanks for the help! Used your suggestions with a small tweak. I set up a grid with several lines and intersections below the plan for my desired incremental moves and drew the polyline with several "jogs" around the areas of the house to move. After drawing the polyline, I selected "Edit area" - all floors, chose the polyline and made a Point to Point move using my desired grid move. Everything worked well. Afterwords, I only had to reconnect some roof planes and move some windows and doors back to center. Appreciate the input from you all! Burke
  3. I have drawn a house plan for a client with plans to layout. After getting bids back, they want to reduce the square footage in certain areas of the house. For instance reducing the overall width by 16" but taking 8" in two different rooms, and 16" in another in the middle of the house (total under roof 6,000sf). I'm trying to figure out a way to take sections of the house and do a point to point move to reduce the size without having to redraw major sections. Does anyone have a suggestion to do this? Thanks, Burke
  4. I was in need of a new desktop computer and I'm at least glad I knew about the changes coming to CA. My existing is pushing 7 yrs, so I'm ok investing a little to take advantage of the software advances. I just purchased a MSI with the following specs: Intel Core i7-10700KF - 8 Core (3.8 GHz - turbo 5.1 GHz) 16GB DDR4 Memory (upgradeable to 128GB) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 1TB SSD MSI Z490 Motherboard Liquid cooled Not the top end, but I think it will work well with option to add more RAM. Will be setting up this week, so I'll know more later. BT
  5. Joe, That worked great! Thank you for the help and have a great Friday!! Bthompson
  6. I have a specific glass tile that I want to show in a 3D view to the customer for their job. I used the capture screen tool to get a picture of the actual tile and have applied it to the backsplash. Using the define material details, I have a brick style in the pattern view using a 12" x 4" size, but in the render view it shows a stack view. How can I change the rendering to match the brick pattern? I'm using X7. Thanks, Bthompson
  7. I'm using X6 and have plans to export to an Architect who adds engineering notes and final code required items as well as small changes to the plan. He uses 2004 AutoCAD. I exported the files in .DWG format, but he tells me he hasn't figured out how to work with my files. I've never used AutoCAD. Does anyone have experience with it or know what are the best settings to use for the exported file? BT
