  1. I have countertops checked in the defaults, but the dimension always grabs onto the cabinet.
  2. Is there a setting I can change so that my dimensions will snap to the countertops (auto generated by the base cabinet) in plan view? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the input. I think that will work just fine. I've updated my signature/profile as well..
  4. What is a cad mask? I'd like to have a clean section left of the refer to place the dimensions.
  5. I'm trying to create a kitchen wall elevation. I am trying to create a section view of just the cabinet wall. If I use the cross section tool, I get too much framing, flooring, etc cluttering things. If I use the wall elevation tool, I can't figure out how to edit the width of the section view to show just the wall in question. Any ideas of the best way to go about this? Thanks I'm using X10
  6. I got that to work. Thanks Is there a way to convert the callout symbol and leader into a block so that it could be inserted into the next drawings? I'm coming from Autocad and I don't exactly understand CA blocks or symbols yet.
  7. Mark, the callout label/ cabinet labels you have in the picture is almost exactly what I would like to do. How do you get the label to reference the individual cabinet?
  8. Thank you both. I knew it would be right under my nose.
  9. When I create a cabinet schedule, the text label is replaced with a number within a circle. Even if I uncheck "display labels" in the schedule Dialog Box or turn off the schedule layer, the text labels do not reappear. Is there anyway I can display both text labels and numbers? Or perhaps toggle between the two using layers visiblity? Thanks
  10. I like the workaround. I'm sorry that it is needed, but I like it. I think the finishing touch is to add Left Side and Right Side attributes to your cabinet schedule. That way unfinished sides display as "Has Face" while finished sides show up correctly.
  11. Thanks for your help. I don't have a problem manually entering my finished ends, but I was hoping to be able to see graphically if I had indeed specified finished ends. I'm gathering that that is impossible at this time. I will definitely check out your annotation sets, but I'm not there yet. I'm only a few days deep right now and still trying to learn the basics of the program. Thanks again. Brett
  12. Thanks. I reposted in Q&A.
  13. Hello All, I am brand new to Chief Architect and have been watching videos and looking at the reference guides trying to learn how to use CA for kitchen design. I am having trouble understanding how (or if) CA handles finished ends and interiors. I have figured out that a schedule can be made that will show the Automatic Finished Ends. This seems to come apart when you have, for instance, a 24" tall wall cabinet sandwiched between two 36" tall wall cabs (like over a sink). The 36" tall cabs should include finish ends, but don't. Also, is there a way of changing the color of one side or the interior of a cabinet, as you would see in real world? Thanks
  14. Thanks. I'll post in Q&A next time.
